TLDR- buff missile reload speed.
Here's my fit.
Adv gunnlogi
Pro missile
2 std hardener
2 adv extender
1 adv missile damage
Their fit
Pro maddie
Ion cannon
(More stuff I don't know)
A PLATE
Now, as you read that you might have thought, why would this guy use shield tanks they suck.
Well, but really. They only suck to blasters and PC.They are very strong against forge,rail, missile and swarm
But that's not the point. Now as you noticed, I capitalized the word PLATE. (I did it again)
Why you ask?
Let me ask you a question. How does a pro missile destroy a maddie? Simple it fires at its low hp (double harden/double rep)(in some cases an adv or standard plate of lucky).
And it goes BOOM.
Take out a rep and put a heavy plate, assume it's proto. I fire all my shots too it.
Let me ask you again. How does a missile (my fit) destroy a pro plate, double hardened maddie?
The answer- IT CANT.
Twice I confronted a pro maddie/blaster and thankfully didn't die. Now, he didn't have his shields so I had an advantage. I fired all my shots. They ALL hit(he wasn't moving). Guess what happened.
He didn't die. Still had like 2 missiles worth of armor. That's ok because it shouldn't take I've salvo to destroy it. Here's the problem tho.
He has his rep. While I reload, he SOMEHOW MANAGES TO REP BACK UP AGAIN.
I basically did nothing. We were at the beginning again. The problem is that missiles still reload to slow. How would a missile tank destroy. Again, IT CANT. Why? Because missiles reload to slow.
Had my missiles reloaded a bit more faster, he wouldn't have repped enough to take my 12 missile salvo again.
After the second attempt to destroy him, a friendly got into tank to help and he destroyed him.
TL:DR- BUFF MISSILE RELOAD. maybe even adds bit of love and slightly buff missile ROF so that it's more than what it currently is but less than it was before.

That was how we destroyed it. WITHOUT HIS SHIELDS. With his shields, even with gunners it would have been impossible to destroy him. And again, he wasn't moving too much till he was low on HP. Another tanker would have left to rep midway through armor. This means you LITERALLY can't destroy a double hardener plate/rep pro maddie with a pro missile.

I wouldn't be engaging one while its hardeners are active......that's just plain crazy.

Depending on the map there is usually cover at least enough to get out of LoS. However the Maddy probably hit you partially without your actives on.
Just put it down to bad luck on this one. Crushing enemy tanks pre-emptively is too valuable and opportunity to pass up, especially for a CQC Blaster type tank.

It did. I survived he later died. But that's not the point. The point is missiles need another reload buff.

Have you maxed out the reload skill? Do you realize you don't have to wait for the full 12 missiles to reload in order to fire? Also, was he a logi with a vehicle rep tool? I often back off, jump out and heal, quickly combined with the rep on the madruger, and i'm back at it in no time. Keep your distance, let them come to you and drain their hardener. |

Yeah. I also know that I don't have to fully reload. But if I don't fully then it's just a waste of time as he will still rep quicker.

I definitely would have not survived with the 2 hardener/extender. But yeah that would have done the trick. Hopefully.

The answer is...
Wear an anti vehicle fit while piloting your hull
:P I know this doesent solve the original problem
but it's the only effective answer with things the way you describe them.
