Interesting vid.
As he says in the beginning behaviour is very complex. As someone who works in a field that has a huge focus on human behaviour a lot of what was said is a basic touch on many theories, and examples of behaviour. Something that was not mentioned is the coping skills that people develop and how those can play out in online gaming. We all have different coping mechanisms and ways of handling crisis, these some into play sometimes when gaming. For example people who are prone to rage, outburst and "acting out" behaviours often have other stressors that are contributing to these behaviours outside of the game. Low self esteem, anger issues, dissatisfaction with aspects of their livesGǪ these can all contribute to the willingness to treat others poorly. A mayo thread that I find in my work is often lack of power or feeling of control. Those who gain or realize a sense of control within their own lives tend to lean towards happier lives, better relations with those around them, grater empathy, and less machiavellian world views.
Just some thoughts.

Aye mate boyo,
That's the essence of it, but everybody needs to get there in their own way. Some don't want to, some don't recognize what contributes to their lack of fun. Hell, none of us can say we really know what drives all of our behaviours, at least not on a conscious level.

I found easy to play for fun and not to try be tryhard much.
I mean there is everytime someone better or worst than you, why streching our nerves.
I understand competitive gaming, but everyone knows there is need for balance as well.
What is great if you are great master of game if nobody do not want to play with you.

I can agree for the most part I'm not typically interested in game to take them over serious especially when you could be derping around and giggling about glitches, random unexpected happenings, and harping on about funny stuff with friends.
Not really sure I've encountered any of what I would call 'Gamer Jerks' in the last few months.
Only aspect of game play I've really taken seriously was Dust 514's Faction Warfare. That's about the only time I kind of expect people to shut the **** up and do what they are supposed to be doing. Beyond that I'm all derpy giggling, random lore chats, and talking up Kagehoshi because he's the nicest guy on the planet and so kind, generous, handsome, kind.......um.....um.....whatever. He gave me some Wolfman's and assorted Officer goodies.
