One of the age-old problems in DUST 514 skirmish is that once a team has all the objectives taken it is often difficult to make a comeback. At the same time once a team loses all of itGÇÖs objectives they often will resort to low-risk tactics on the redline while the enemy team sits and camps this as well. This often leads to boring matches that drag out and leads many players to leave a match once they have lost all objectives. To solve this I think that portals as we have seen tested with some added conditions could provide the answer. This would also needed to be paired with a way to end matches where the opposing side refuses to fight more quickly as well.
Once all objectives are lost portals activate in the MCC for the team that is currently holding no points. Generally there should be one portal for each objective. At the same time the MCC will begin taking increased damage from the null cannons as it diverts power from its defenses to generating the portals. Once a virus upload is complete on a null cannon and the point begins to flip the increased damage stops. The portals will remain active until the point completes flipping at which point the portals will then turn off. When this occurs optionally the MCC could then repair a small amount of damage.
TLDR: All points hacked? Portals to each objective on the redlined MCC activate. Redlined MCC takes increased damage until a hack starts and the portals turn off once a flip occurs. Optionally after a flip the redlined MCC gets back some health.

This would add a more interesting dynamic than a redline massacre.
It'd also let me out of the redline to do terrible things while the bads are distracted.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

I think it'd be important to tie it to points held rather than MCC health. Other wise you end up with something like both sides getting into armor and having portals, which I think would be.... awkward.

You are StarTrek child in times when BSG is way more popular.

This change would nerf Scouts even more and boost Sentiels - if I have "portal" directly to the point there is no need in using stealth low-profile, easy to kill Scout. It's better to take tanked Heavy with Logistics as guarantee of succeed.
I don't like this idea.

Redline camping in its entirety can be fixed by symmetrical red-line zones. I was astounded when I figured out they weren't symmetrical because it allows exactly this to happen. |

Krias, really I think for the long term Dust needs a solution that can make the redline a thing of the past.
For sure it needs to be removed from Planetary Conquest. I think something like these portals though could help the situation dramatically though.

I understand the necessity for the redline, you cannot make them a thing of the past because you cannot have unlimited map size. But having them asymmetrical just means that you or your enemy can sit in (wait for the oxymoron) relatively absolute safety and pretty much guarantee your opponents death if they get in to kill you.
The portals are not helpful because they provide an unnatural advantage to the losing team which is an inherent imbalance. If I had worked hard for a crushing victory on the winning team, it would be a bit galling if magic portals opened that could completely bypass choke points etc.
It smacks of mario-kart's AI rubber banding and I don't think that would be a good thing. If you make the Redline symmetrical then the opposition have to fight as they cannot hide in the redline, the enemy can go anywhere on the map they can go in safety. |

Ahhh.... okay. I totally misunderstood you. We actually want the same thing: no enemy redline just the map boundary.
In terms of the portals that's why I would balance the bypass via portals with the increased damage from the null cannons so that it's a give and take.
