Will this not make camping and fortifying an absolute must? The flanking aspect will be important but I foresee many things such as experience with the map being number one. I just don't want to see it all come down to who has high ground. That's already crappy as it is isn't it?

On some maps the high ground isn't the best ground.

At least people on the high ground won't be able to dance away from your bullets, so that's something. |

I will take tactics and positioning over the wiggle wiggle strafe bullshit any day.
You are sure trying every argument you can think of to keep this gsrbage around. Worried about how much you will drop off after this bs is removed? Also, it will still be at 70%. It's not like they are taking it away completely.
B4 Gitgud response, I know I suck at this game. I am hoping nerfingnthis makes me suck a little less since every scout and Minass won't be strafing through my shots and letting aim assist do all the work for them. Maybe I will be a little more competitive once this goes live.

Maybe I will be a little more competitive once this goes live. It is a guaranteed fact that the best slayers now and the best slayers post movement nerf will be the same. Because it is not, and never was, about strafing, or hit detection, or tiers or whatever else peeps like to blame for the fact that some players dominate.
The greatest thing about Dust, apart from it's(grossly disappointing) connection to New Eden, is that it's a game that actually asks the player to HTFU.
But give it time, eventually the community will nerf that too.

Before DDR514 became a thing, I was doing decent. I had a chance in 1v1 matchups. Then overnight, basically any time I have to go gun to gun with a scout/minass I might as well figure what suit to run next. I would say due to tactics and positioning, I get the jump on opponents 55-60% of the time. I can't count how many times I got behind someone without them looking and they do a hop spin wiggle wiggle and take me out. Occasionally I can see it happening. But out in the open, when I have the jump using a RR or CR, and I am losing more than 70% of those? It is even more annoying in CQC when I am running an HMG and they can strafe THROUGH my shots....

So strafing is the tactic that's breaks camping and fortifying?
Strafing isn't even the problem so much as hit registration, and hit detection or registration suffers as a mechanic in this game due to speed of movement. This is simple enough to understand. Guys simply strafe out of dmg that, by all rights, should be hitting them. I've even been recorded in a PC in a min assault just absolutely not taking dmg.
While speed should be used to get to cover, and hence makes you take less dmg. It shouldn't be possible to strafe in the open, and avoid bullets?! That's a ridiculous concept. I've seen kb/M heavies do it facing another hmg at less than 15 meters away. They avoid dmg, in CQC, by strafing. They don't take cover, or look for assistance. They just wiggle, and the game can't pick up the hits you land when you can clearly see that your hitting them.
If this wasn't true, players wouldn't do it. Like modded controllers, if there was no advantage what would be the point?
I agree with bonuses, armor, shield, and speed advantages, but at the rate it's set now speed is a crutch more than a tactic.

The overall movement speed in Dust is too fast for hit detection to catch up.
Also dancing has nothing to do with dealing with campers.
