If we implemented hard tiericide in Dust, the elite players would still stomp the kittenfluff out of pubs. This has in fact been proven repeatedly by players to demonstrate the argument for CCP's benefit.

Powercores for performance improvements? Bring it!

Tiericide for NPE or vet player experience? Kittenshit generic shooter thinking.

Why? Because kicking ass in Dust involves gungame(that does include strafing, for all you 'tactical shooter' evangelists), tactics, awareness, positioning, timing, planning, map knowledge, fitting knowledge, systems knowledge(passive tacnet, active tacnet, dropsuits, racial traits, biotics, squads, damage types, AV, vehicles, vehicle scans, vehicle weapons systems), shield behavior, armor behavior, equipment knowledge, audio cues, spawn mechanics, grenade behaviors, yadda, yadda, yadda....

It's the knowledge of all those systems and how they interact that gives the vets their primary advantage, not tiers.

There's nothing wrong with an uphill climb against tiered suits/gear and passive skills, we just need to 1)educate the noobs and 2)reward players(based on meta and mu differences) for facing off against fps monsters like Hemidall ;)

Look at eve: tiericide means throwing away pointless vertical progression (std, adv, proto) and adding more horizontal progression (progression from basic medium frames to either an assault of a logi, for example) Tiericide means that you're grinding to get more options, not for just a boring stat boost.
