People have always been saying so-and-so will kill dust when it comes out, but lets be honest, was dust ever really the kind of game where it was the only game you play? I see dust as a secondary or tertiary game you play when you wand a nice break from the 'main' games you're playing at the time, and I think it fits well in that slot.
Yes I think the goals set for the game were too high, and the 'requirement' to run it off the EVE servers and connect it to EVE pidgeonholed the game into being worse than it could have been without these crutches, and yes the game itself isnt the end all or be all of first person shooters. It has some good points, but it has many flaws too.
This game wont die, it will continue, no 'new' game will kill it as long as its being worked on. But on the other hand it was never really the kind of game that would be big enough to be 'killed' in the first place. |

This is the only game I play. I would save money if I played something else but I don't know of any other game that offers to me what Dust514 offers.

there is no need to kill it, dust is already very slowly dieing by itself since it went from beta to release canditate 
much more fun to watch it die hard than to kill it outright
