why would you want to take my baby away from me?
on a more serious note porting to Ps4 could do more harm then good in fact it is highly likely that if this was attempted dust would die out quickly
on the other hand if dust was ported to PC it could flourish like the beautiful flower that it is |

They can barely do anything with it on the ps3, you think they are gonna spend the money to amp it up to the ps4?
Dude, you know how much goes wrong with the game when they do a hotfix right? Can you fathom them trying to rework the game and port it to the ps4? You would be lucky if you could get into a match after two and a half years. |

I prefer fruits and vegetables, I can actually handle and eat those to my benefit. Thorny flowers you can look at but you don't want to touch... See where I'm going with this? |

As I said in a previous thread, port to pc or ps4 has its pros and cons.
PC hack will be a real pain, and knowing how CCP takes years to react, and how tools like punkbuster are inefficient, it could easily destroy the game.
Ps4 doesnt have this problem, but it'll all depend on Sony again. It wont be as free as it would be on pc.
But anyway, I dont think it'll ever be ported anywhere.

Wow, this thread seems a lot more pessimistic than the others I've seen on this topic.
The idea that the game will somehow fade away with no one noticing if it gets taken to PS4 is mostly based in people's assumptions that we would basically have this same game but with 48 players on PS4.
Given CCP's presentations on Project Legion and how their proposed PC solution to all the game's problems was pretty much going to involve slapping a new coat of paint on this game and removing a lot of player freedom, I can understand that assumption. However, a platform with that level of performance and that much memory could easily allow CCP to finally deliver on the massive scale that is a central element of New Eden.
If Planetside 2 can run on the PS4, then so could a proper Dust 514. Hell, even though it was a separate division of the corporation, now that Sony Online Entertainment got axed from the company and had to become Daybreak Games, they would in no way be competing with any element of Sony if they made the move.
