so 2 enhanced damps with skill lvl 3 and a cal scout skill lvl 3 beats 3 complex precision enhancers on the same suit its only by one point which sucks in my opinion the only scout that can beat the damps is an Amarr scout and they only get 2 high slots but can see pretty much everything other then maybe a Gal scout
my Cal scout used to be able to see everything (just about) for miles (meters) I like to be able to see my surrounding because I like to play tactically, I still like that the cal scout can see the furthest but the amarr scout does almost just as well and can stack more range extenders
why do enhanced damps beat complex precision enhancers? if you put two enhanced damps on a min scout skill lvl 1 you get 22 profile but if you stack 2 complex precision enhancers you get 24 scan precision that's just not fair in my opinion they should at least be the same
why should a scout with less sp investment beat a scout with more sp invested I'm ok if the Gal scout goes unseen as they have extra damp and extra precision but if I cant see a darn min scout or an amarr scout that is using less then 3 damps that's just outrageous
I still end up catching most of then with either scans or my own eyes but still it'd be nice if my squishy cal scout could be able to see these threats instead of dying to just about anything due to being one of the weakest scouts as far as possible ehp goes
what good is scan range if I cant see whats coming anyway sure you can catch most suits but the ones that are a real threat are the ones I need to see and I used to be able to
I will be investing in the amarr scout after I get done with my main cal skills but not being able to see other scouts sucks gal and amarr are better at scans then caldari are and they can still tank while doing it but cal gives up its main tank and cant armor tank well enough for it to be viable, the caldari seem to always get the short end of the stick when it comes to anything other then shield delay's |

Range extenders mean squat, so you still get the most range.
Dampening should have the advantage. If you can't scan him, he likely can't scan you. Its an even match.
Part of the reason it is done like this also is because of shared passive scans, which can't be gotten rid of, and have been major problems. This is a big reason that scans rings were introduced to begin with.
That all being said, EWAR sucks, its HP or go home.

I disagree but I thank you for taking the time to read and reply
I think EWAR is still the best way to go as far as tactics if you can see your enemy before they see you then you can set up however you wish to take them down, however if you go this rout you probably have less HP meaning you either take them out quick or they take you down
I like to run around in low HP suits killing all sorts of marks, I enjoy taking down proto scouts that think they have the upper hand since I tend to only use std suits but with a mixed amount of mods whether it be using complex myos or complex enhancers and kincats, cardiac regs, or damps on lows (only adv mods for low slots as I haven't skilled fully into these yet)
I have been using a std min light frame with two complex precision enhancers an enhanced kincat and enhanced cardiac reg a bolt pistol and ion pistol both std a flux nade and a nano hive
using this suit allows my team to get the upper hand in skirms (I had been having trouble with other suits in skirm due to scouts) as I can run around really fast from point to point hacking fast and killing just about anything that gets in my way I mostly always have the upper hand as I see them before they see me and my alpha dmg potential allows me to take them down fast before they can react, its also a very isk efficient suit as I rarely find myself dying but even if I do I don't lose much. less then 21.5k per death and I am averaging over 200k easily with under 3 deaths if any at all per match
I was trying to find the best suit for skirms and this seems to be it as far as solo play style, I do have access to the min scout but I tend not to use it even tho it does have more pg and cpu |
