After keeping up with all the Fallout4 news, I saw the twitter post that Fallout4 modding will be supporting only Microsoft. I honestly feel sad now since I was a Sony supporter. Do I stay with Sony and get a PS4, go to Microsoft for the Xbox one, or get a custom built gaming PC? I am honestly unsure of making my next move.

Well it shouldn't be too bad.
Microsoft probably paid about 3 Billion for it to support them. (Reference for a stupid choice they made a short time ago)

New Content if possible + PS4 port.

Just pointing out this.
Also are mods really that big a deal? I mean, speaking personally they've never been much more than a gimmick that entertains for about 10 minutes each and ultimately detracts from the core game.
What're you looking at me like that for? I'll shank you I will.

It'll be better to wait and see how they're handled on Xbox One first before making any purchases. |

Modding to me is fun and brings new perspectives to the game. And a PC is just universally better as for being a PC and a gaming platform.

Custom built gaming PC is the right solution. Most of the "console exclusive" games also have a PC port coming (No Mans Sky, Sea of Thieves, Street Fighter V) and you won't miss modding on ANY game should you get the PC version of it.

Mods are really that big of a deal. Skyrim consistently on the top 10 list of Steam's most played games on the back of its mod community alone. They increase the longevity and replayability of a given title tremendously and while there are certainly "gimmicky" mods that are fun for one or two outings there are mods that go above and beyond and add truly gameplay defining additional content -for free- to a title as well.
Just for fun.

It is Bethesda though, so don't take this too seriously, for all we know, they could just be saying this to protect PS4 sales for Fallout 4. Todd Howard isn't a stranger to telling lies, he told so many different lies leading up to the release of Skyrim. |

Well, while PC is the superior way to play games like Fallout/Skyrim, (as a Sony fanboy) it was stated in a later interview that they would like to bring mod support to Sony as well.

I was looking at a PC vs PS4 Witcher 3 review, and ya those PC physics are SOOOOO! GOOOD--sarcasm.
PC looks like there was a Cat 3 storm rolling through-trees and bushes are being pushed over, but everyone's hair was perfect--ridiculous!.
Those same PC physics are not so good in titles like Project Cars- aero packages and tire models seem to be lacking-we have both PC and PS4 versions of the game.
But DX12 will be here and a PC may reach "draw call" efficiencies that could come near the PS4 someday. 8 gigs of DDR5 on a 128bit bus and a 5500mhz clock- the principle of "Economies of Scale" @ work in the real world.
I'll have 3 PS4's, 3 HDMI PC monitors, and then hook my $500.00 driving rig and a Samsung DTS surround system up and still save money, with enough money left over for a Morpheus-for less money than a decent PC.
PS4 > PC like I said Economies of Scale

PC, WILL be best. My previous fallout games were unplayable on my PS3 (literally) so I'm not holding out too much faith it will be much better on PS4. Though considering skyrims stability, it might be alright.
I just generally prefer PC, because player made patches, and the console, and the mods.
