This is an official notice of my intention to run for CPM2, This first post will be short an sweet, I am writing a more detailed manifesto/announcement. But I just wanted to take the plunge an force my own hand as it were.
Good luck to all candidates and I'll be posting more details about myself and my campaign on this thread over the next few days.

CCP also hasn't said the election thread was open.
I've been waiting so I'm not spamming everyone constantly with my well known opinions and attitude. I remember the last CPM election. It was largely incoherent and scattered.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

Ive condensed down my manifesto into a short forum piece that i hope will give the readers a better sense of who i am and why i want to be CPM
To begin with a bit about my in game hsitory
I have been playing dust approxamtley 3 years now, ive diverted onto other games only breifly and have always found myslef coming back to dust, mainly for the players i enjoy playing with and the constant improvement and advancemnet of the game itself.
I've been part of a few major corps and participated in corp battles and planetary conquest, though i am most at home on faction warfare. Being a role player at heart i found entertainment in choosing a faction (Caldari due to my love of far eastern cyber-punk) and trying to advance its cause, helping to organise players within a faction and trying to use the FW link between eve and dust tenuous though it is.
Over the games history ive been skilled into every play-style/role at some point or have played on friends characters that are, so i have a fair insight into each role and its strengths and weaknesses, a lot of the time i play the jack of all trades switching up to what's needed to meet the current threats, or in a more casual match whatever i feel will be entertaining.
Currently i spend most of my game time playing FW, ive spent a lot of time while playing trying to foster a faction community, using just a chat channel trying to recruit and organise players into a more formidable co-operative unit with which to enter into matches. Ive also been recruiting EVE online players to provide orbital strikes in the Dust FW matches and have recently taken to the void myself in order to drop strikes and combat enemy strike ships.
This total combined experience of the broad variety of play styles and tactics along with the social interaction of meeting new players and organising in game teams has been whats definitely made dust for me more than your average FPS experience.
My wanting to be a candidate comes from loving the game and moreover, loving the discussion and debate that comes with such a more complex and social FPS experience. Many hours have been spent discussing the finer points of strategy, upcoming fixes/changes or possible new concepts with other players, i would relish the opportunity to take it to the next level and work on bringing the communities concepts to the development team.
I believe the CPM's role is an invaluable one, spending a lot of time communicating between the developers and the community so the devs can put their resources and efforts into the most needed facets of the game, be it reporting on bugs that have occurred in patches, responding to queries an concerns on the forums or communicating ideas and feedback from the player community.
If elected i plan on being wholly consumed by the pursuit of sifting through all the communities feedback and ideas, looking for those little golden ideas that can have significant positive impact on the game and its players, being quick and efficient when reporting and investing bugs and exploits within the game and collating community feedback from all sources.
I would hope to execute this by being active on the forums trawling through all the feedback and posting for further discussion on helpful threads, being readily available on out of game media and holding regular focus groups which will be areas for rational discussion and debate.
In the long term i hope to help pave the way for this games ascension into another platform, getting a lot of potential questions and problems about how the game will function answered by what we do in Dust514 today.
In the immediate future my main concern is the implementation of the possible "limited tiercide" power core concept, helping to make sure it is properly considered so that it doesn't completely throw off the games balance and set us back another year in hot fixes and re-balances. If it does become a successful reality I hope that the resources liberated and the techniques learned can go towards adding more hands on content to the game as well as improving the games running performance.
If it does indeed become a reality and it results in more game resource to work with I intend to strongly promote the addition of in game content, such as new suit roles, vehicle types and roles, maps and new weapons and equipment, this would all be implemented in a carefully monitored fashion to asses each pieces impact on in-game balance and performance with constant community communication.
That being said the tiercide idea may not occur or may not give the performance results I dream of, so there are also many other areas I would like to collate feedback and ideas for,
- Community feedback and improvements on Planetary Conquest 2.0
- Possible new game modes for public contracts
- Improvements to UI and overall functionality of Faction Warfare
- Feedback on current New player experience and issues of player retention
- Improving and expanding the EVE/Dust connection in FW and PC
- Current combat meta balances and play-styles
- Feedback and improvements to public matchmaking
- Improved in game corporation and chat tools
- Review of Daily missions and possible new ones
- Further warbarge functions and subsystems
- Possible new skills, items and vehicles
- More Dust/EVE lore
When elected you will find me an approachable easy going person who will be more than happy to discuss your thoughts and ideas , your qualms and your queries. I will do my utmost to provide constant communication between the development team and the player base (as much as the NDA allows), to host objective and rational debate on the games current state and its future. All in the name of a better game for all.
I hope this has given you a better sense of who you will be voting for, i will be adding more information and ideas as the campaign progresses, thank you for reading.
