It really makes the game hard to take serious not that games should be taken seriously, but it breaks the 3rd wall I like to get into the game and when I see someone frog hopping around fraging people it kills the world for me. I am suppose to be a space merc struggling to get by in a harsh unforgiving for profit war.. fighting for my life and gold and then seeing someone cartoonishly hopping around killing people ruins that.

Im more concerned with the fact that for some reason the lag and framerates seem to be getting worse again
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

So futuristic space mercs having produced the technology to jump really high breaks your suspension of disbelief?
Of all the things in Dust to choose from, this seems to be a lesser factor. I mean, tanks and merc movement have no inertia, you can often times not even step over a ledge, and frame rate/lag are huge problems. Any one of those seems more significant to me.

Any double entendre is unintended I assure you.

tanks have inertia, so do LAVs and dropships.
Believe me, I am WELL aware that they have inertia (I drive tanks and inertia means I'll never be a successful pilot!).
It's the dropsuits that lack the inertia factor.

Sorry to break the 4th wall for you, but why are we fighting over tiny missile installations on the ground when we have much more powerful artillery in orbit?

Why not just bombard the MCC instead of using a NULL cannon?

Well I am no dust university scientist, but I would say that the orbitals used only effect organic matter.

As I said I am not a scientist maybe the mcc shields are more than enough to deflect, nullify, or even absorb orbitals.

So not to derail the discussion of "is this believable" as that's subjective but imo bunny fits are a bit of a problem if only because they are: Only a viable strategy at proto levels, thus disallowing new players' use. Kinda gives way too much of a defensive boost, effectively giving "cover" in the open (not literally but the extreme change in vector makes effective tracking nigh impossible while they rain no a explosives down. I propose a simple nerf: make extra jump height (and perhaps melee) cost a higher amount of stamina. Thoughts? |
