Since Rattati is thinking about new squad sizes and mass deploys in FW and PC. Could we also get new orbitals that the Field Commander (Guy who started the massive squad) could drop? Instead of them trying to kill the enemy team, could they be focused on helping our team instead of trying to put the hurt on the other side metaphorically speaking. These new orbitals would help us hurt them. For Instance:
- Nanohive drop: Doesn't drop a lot of nanohives to make the game lag but drops a good size sphere that refills your ammo so you can keep reloading and shooting. - Repair Drop: Like above, a good size sphere that increases your armor's innate repair stat. Gallente's would profit a lot from this. - Damage Drop: Like above, a little smaller sphere but you get a (insert damage boost) to all weapons, vehicles, and installations inside the area.
These orbitals would be massive in WP cost so they would have to be used at the right time and right place and also would need either 8 really good logis to get or a 16 man squad. (Hence Field Commander role would be big here as he would be the one choosing whether to drop a support orbital here or there). And another consenquence could be is that an Eve pilot would need a special turret (that Eve could introduce to the Eve Pilots) or otherwise he would be dropping an orbital right on his teammates. This way it would boost that Eve-Dust link. Better orbitals?

Interesting suggestions, Billy. But instead of just bubbles that give ammo and reps, they could be nanohive boxes and repping turrets. I'm sort of on the fence about a damage boost drop.

the damage boost in my opinions could give that extra edge when it comes to pushing a point then holding it. I was think it along the terms of pushing and holding a point. You already have that warbarge upgrade... why not give a time limited boost on a battleground? If you leave the sphere, you lose the boost and I wasn't thinking that these drops would last long... maybe like normal warbarge strike time limit? the repair drop i was thinking could be a mass repair drop like a repping nanohive where it reps you with like 200 health each time. The ammo drop was more of say a nanohive in the middle of the drop which just had a huge radius and insane ammo replication rate... We already have supply depots that technically could count as nanohive boxes...

Eve orbitals are not based on WP.
NPC orbitals destroyed the Eve link almost to the point of no return. (We will be discussing this in depth in the D-UNI lecture later today)
Requiring the pilot to fit a different turret would just go ahead and shut down the few Eve orbitals that happen for many Eve related reasons that I will not try to explain.
I encourage you to join us for the discussion that is based totally around FW and the Eve link in channel "Lecture.D-UNI" (drop the quotes but keep the period and dash) at 1900 Eve time. The more people that are there to discuss the better chance we have of creating something great. |

I was speaking hypothetically... I was kind of referring to when you don't have an eve pilot... but then again not really... it was just an idea that I thought of could be great for those 1 in a Million competitive FW battles that we miss. Usually they are one sided.
Would love to partake but sadly life requires me here. gotta support that fake life with the real life...
