Looks like thread deleted but this isn't the first time I have heard of CCP outsourcing Dust to a third party for porting. Curious if the rumors are true. |

UR4 -= is a great engine. I love to mess around with making height maps in it, which are terrible looking but I like to tinker. This would be a great step for us in terms of PC pr PS4, I just want to see Dust514 live on.

I think I would cry tears of joy for many days if it was true that CCP had finally done the smart thing and outsourced to someone that can actually manage a console game. If it were also to put Dust on unreal engine 4 for PS4 I would have people calling an exorcist as a I convulsed with celebratory laughter.
Please for the love of all things gaming tell me someone with competent management will take over Dust. PLEASE. |

raised from his crypt.
it would make sense, the PS3 is dieing out a lot faster than the ps2 did, there going to have to race to get dust out while the market is still open, if they wait any longer they simply wont stand out and dust will never become a thing

None of this really looks new. To me, it just looks like these people worked with CCP on the UI of Dust- probably from the beginning. |

Yes that is from the beginning of Dust but if they outsourced a portion of Dust who is to say they are not willing to outsource an even larger portion.
Think about it. When Legion came around they only wanted Ratatti working on server side numbers. Maybe instead of all the wild speculation that we had at that time as to the reason was not true and it was simply because they were trying to decide on turning the client side production over to a third party.
There is no way of knowing if this is true or not but looking at it it hindsight it all ties together nicely.
Then if we consider how abruptly Legion talk from any Dev went dark and the fact that at fanfest we found out that a portion of CCP Shanghai had resources being used for VR development this also adds up to things being turned over to a third party.
Yes this is all wishful thinking because having Dust turned over to someone that is well versed in console gaming while CCP simply oversees and makes sure that the essence of New Eden is maintained is absolutely the greatest scenario I could ever imagine.

My question is was Project Legion just a financial ruse which is allowed as it fits in perfectly within the New Eden Universe that brought in new financial investments.

Or, more pessimistically, that CCP (or anyone) simply isn't working on Dust at the moment.

OK, there are clearly a few devs that are associated with Dust. Are they full time Dust only I wonder.

Upgrading Dust to UE4 would be a smart decision. I don't know about moving it to another console, though. Corners will have to be cut somewhere and I like my games in 1080p, 60fps.

Those guys worked on Bad Company 2? Man that game was one of my favourite FPS`s next to 2142 and DUST.
EDIT - Wait I saw DUST 514 fitting screen in there......
Seriously guys - Why the f*** are we trawling the internet for tid bits of information from random sources such as this. I wish CCP would straight up tell us where they stand. Yes or no. Do or dont.
Ok I guess that footage is old as they mention by name DUST 514 as a PS3 exclusive.
