IMHO it seems like it, there's always talk of PROTO gear or how basic/militia sucks but hardly talk of ADV level gear. Its more now then before but i think its treaed like it doesn't even exist.
Example of the Gal Scout slots
lvl 1 1H 3L
lvl 3 2H 3L
lvl 5 2H 4L
OFF 2H 5L
With the Advanced suit, its literally a happy medium between basic and PROTO, decent price pending on mods, good fitting space and slots to get more creative, a well fitted ADV suit is able to compete well in a competitive setting and even if you die more times then you're comfortable with, it takes a while actually start losing ISK.
So why are some people going broke running PROTO IMHO,
1) Can't actually afford to run it as much as they'd like
2) Dying too much running PROTO which is expensive which leads to next point
3) Bad player that needs PROTO to make up for badness/ don't have a cut-off point
A cut-off point is exactly what it sounds like, after a certain number of PROTO suits are lost you cut-off using it and tier it down. You save on ISK, you don't lose to much and you still can make a profit. Running around asking for higher payouts for matches or spamming chats asking for ISK isn't the way to do it. Its a way but it doesn't help yourself too much in the long run.
Why? Self-control. If you can't or wont stop causing yourself to go into the negative but switching up how you do things, thats not someone elses problem to clean up.
*Excluding the newbros and the regular comedic haz ISK people or the PC players cause PC will make you want to turn you're controller into a poster on your wall.
That was my little rambling about PROTO and ISK and ADV gear.

Welllllll, if that's the case, the community isn't a single entity. "We" are not a hivemind. There are people who could run proto if Pubs gave 1 isk per battle. There are people who would still go broke every match if pubs payed 1M per match. Now, what is going to happen, is that CCP is going to collect data and see where the majority of Dust population lies within the spectrum and lower Isk prices juuuuuust so that you don't have quite enough (unless you're exceptional or put in a lot of time) so that you'll buy AUR gear and 5 dollar Battle packs. It's a free to play game yall. Not free.
No use talking about this. At least until someone proves to me otherwise (not that it matters, it sounds more condecending than I mean it to be).
It was more rambling on my part but im kinda criticising people that run proto, find complain about not having ISK, but refuse to run lower tier gear to more easily make ISK. I understand your point, just trying to give some tips on ISK saving for those who don't have ISK coming out of every orifice.
Besides if people didn't hand ot ISK to broke proto users i think there'd be less stomping and better ISK management. Which would lead to more stomping in the long run....FACEDESK.
Just simple ISK management Protocake, simple things made complicated by yours truly.
