This has probably been mentioned before, but here goes:
FW winners can opt to stay at that district and defend it if they win.
-small LP payout multiplier that increases with each successful defense -payout multiplier applies for each side, whomever wins gets the cookie jar
It would work well with some of the battlefinder/queue ideas I've seen. If you could see that there was a team that had won Cal FW 10 times in a row, you'd be inclined to put a team together to go snatch that payout. |

That fails to fundamentally address the problem that plagues Dust 514's Faction Warfare. We still lack the agency to be where we need to be. In this case we either subject ourselves to a the randomness of the traditional queuing or fundamentall set up camp on one singular district to farm LP.
This is not what we should be doing. Players need to be able to affect the FW zones and see after all is said and done the results of their actions.
For example- If PIE Inc runs a sync with players shuffling in and our for say 6 hours attacking a single planet/ system this needs to be reflected with a control change. Not a system that offer players either a random chance of being somewhere useful to EVE pilots or encourages players to establish themselves on one single district and not leave.
Neither is an acceptable choice for putting agency in our hands.

I do get that.
I'm just thinking of fun, not lore. |

My concerns are not lore related. They are purely practical. You have no value if all you do is sit on a single district and that single district has no value other than to reward a Sync for being random nobodies.
We need a model that gives Dust players the agency they need to pick systems, planets, etc and the ability to conquer those through effort, see their effort, and have their effort last longer than 20 minutes. By this I mean perhaps syncs or channel groups could organise weekend operations where players all group up to attack and defend specific systems and planets.
One day I want to be able to post up a new MOTD in the PIE Ground Channel explaining that over one weekend we were going to be laying siege to Oyonata VI and by the end of the weekend that planet was entirely ours.

I guess the same system would work if it were successful attacks.
Just looking for a carrot to get people grouping up and putting up a fight.
