Today 8 Months, 22 Days later: We're sitting at 2,437 players currently online.
The highest since 2014-11-06, which had 2,472 players. Which was 7 months, 3 days ago.
The numbers might look bad, sure, but when you consider that if Dust 514 were a game on Steam -right now-, this is what it'd look like:
#51: Total War: Attila - 2,849 players #52: Space Engineers - 2,661 players #53: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition - 2,634 players #54: Neverwinter - 2,629 players #55: Tom Clancy's: Ghost Recon Phantoms - 2,623 players #56: ArcheAge - 2,616 players #57: Planetside 2 - 2,501 players #58: Dust 514 - 2,472 players #59: Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition - 2,448 players #60: NBA 2K15 - 2,394 players
And then there's Evolve which ranks #238 with 379 players currently online. Which came out about four months ago.

Yeh, but as far as Free-to-Play shooters (Planetside 2 and Ghost Recon: Phantoms) we're actually right in the same ballpark as far as player counts. At least, right now.
Trick is to actually surpass them =P

We are unique, there is not a game like us. PlanetSide is bland and Generic and is like millions of others in it's genre. And Ripley is right, we would rule if we was on PC.

Remember that these numbers are also just peak concurrent, it doesn't account for cycling out players through timezones, or people that aren't on long enough to get tracked, or people that have realised they don't need to stay logged in to accrue passive sp.

Oh god, don't mention Subs around here. People will tin-foil about how subs will somehow make subscribers' voices weigh more than non-subscribers. I tried it once and people flipped their wig.
Albeit, logic would dictate that the guy who pays for his coffee does have a little bit more weight to the guy complaining about his free coffee.... but who am I to judge the value of coffee.

I am mad, girls get free coffee showing off their badonkadonks and when i try i get slapped. I buy my coffee dammit, shouldn't i get free one every now and then with a nip slip?

I agree, PlanetSide knows exactly how to polish a turd, they are experts in the field of turds. And yes, CCP doesn't handle monetization very well. But my point stands, in comparison to the very core, we are the better game. I am leaving out the stuff that makes us horrible, all the lag and glitches and **** that makes it look like we are in late alpha early beta because i contribute that to how shite the ps3 is. If we were on PC, we could be in the top 20s, or atleast 30s, give or take. We are better than other FPS. We are what they are not, unique.

Lol, trust me, I'd love to just sub-up and have my Passive Boosters applied automatically instead of having to get on at -the exact second they expire- because you can't extend stacked boosters apparently x3 It's also a lot easier than trying to balance my finances IRL.

Lmfao, yeah, by a whole 29 players, right?
I'd be a little hesitant to move to Next Gen too if it only got me +30 players online.

you can only compare Dust to other online only game, thats like comparing one of my old mobile games to one of my newer, i only have a few hundred a week on my first game, but almost 20k on my new one, why would they stick around in the old one? same way you mentioned witcher 2, why would many people be on that when its so old and witcher 3 is out |

PC F2P market has far more competition.
On the PS3 there are.... 3 games? I think? And only one of them is an FPS, AKA DUST.
