hello losers... jp....not really. I have come up with my own solution to shield vs armor. My favorite weapon is the ScR and my favorite suit is the cal assault. so I know very well the "issues" shield suits have.
first buff the native armor reps on all suits. cal at 3 /amarr at 4.5 /min at 3.5/gall at 5.5 these are for the assaults, the other suits would need tweaking to.
then buff shield regulators so using two will accomplish what three currently do, which will free up a low slot for shield suits... or get rid of shield depleted recharge delay and simply use the normal recharge delay value
to prevent from becoming over powered shield regulators should have higher cpu/pg cost while also having lower cpu/pg for extenders.
on my ak0 I can fit all complex mods except 1 slots... for a properly fitted shield suit it should be the same way if these changes are made.

Okay, first of all, there are flaw's in this, the disparity between the suits and their rep's, gallente is armor regen, so with this, they'd should naturally without modules be at 8+ reps, secondly amarr and caldari wouldn't have said reps as amarr are tanker's, and caldari are shield tankers/ shield regen, minmatar sounds logical, your proposal to shield regulators half agreed half not, regulators, aren't the issue, it's shield themselves and shield HP value, fact that 1 damage from a gun stops my shield's, and the fact that my shields can't reach the level of armor's on both assault and sentinel level (assault to assault and sentinel to sentinel), I should be dipping in and out of cover, recovering at least some of my shield's back, but that's not how this game play's, yes I can dip in and out, but in those moment's my enemies can close in, and kill me, removing any chance for long range engagement is the fact that all the maps are CQC and the gun's have such (unrealistically) short range, reducing the original developer proposal and use for caldari suit's.
Any buffing and such to armor would only increase the already high displeasure and disparity between armor and shield, armor's don't need a buff, shield's do.

first you must be living under a rock because all suits have innate armor regen, a buff in armor regen would arguably benefit shield tankers more then armor and 8+ reps? lol that would be absurdly OP. and if having a 1.6 second delay on a cal assault with only two regulators and not three isnt good enough then you obviously need to stick to armor tanking. you would have an extra low slot for damps/kincats/reps...IDC what you throw on it, but to say that having a free low slot wouldn't be good enough is just laughable. I've played cal assault a lot lately and I wreck **** with it.. the wrong buff would make this an OP suit.

Yeah, same here. People are exaggerating how "underpowered" shields and cal ass is. Or they just expect to be invincible "omg my shields recharge so fast!!!111!"
People greatly overlook the advantages of cal ass because of one weapon (even though the duvolle can wreck shields almost instantly as well) and because most people are apparently incapable of finding cover to recharge health. I've played Cal ass long enough to know that taking 2 damage then your health stops recharging isn't that big of an issue. It doesn't even happen that often.
With all that being said, i'm sitting here with my popcorn waiting for CCP to listen to all the bad players and buff shields and ARs. I can't wait to have an overpowered "old skool" fit. Caldari Assault with breach/assault rifle.
