Ok so we have the CSM in EVE. Will the number of CSM members be increased with the launch of DUST, or will there be a DUST specific CSM? This kinda just hit me, and I think it is a good question that needs to be addressed. |

I'm suprised nobody talked about this to my knowledge. I'm not sure how elections would transfer over to a free-to-play shooter. Most mercs will probably be happy if their guns shoot straight and don't cost too much, so apathy will be the #1 political party in DUST. As much as I hate elitism, the universe will probably be much more stable if it stays an EVE thing. Maybe people who spend a certain amount on AUR in DUST. |

On the other hand, I kind of like the idea of a CSM-like system put into place.
A lot of multiplayer forums always degrade into shouting matches about nerfs. Especially when there are a lot of options available to the players.
That being said, if there is a CSM-like system set up to act as an intermediary between the people shouting for nerfs and the Devs, it could help out a lot. I've had a lot of experience with other shooters where once the shouting got loud enough the Devs automatically ended up making the suggested "changes" (nerfs). Those games always end up with almost every piece of equipment being completely equal.
On the other hand, if it does come into play I think that we need some sort of limit on how many members are coming from big corps or alliances. There are going to be quite a few people playing that never are a part of either. |

Heh, could always push for EVE members who are active in DUST as the two will be intertwined eventually, but this is a good question. For those who have no idea what is being discussed, here is some linkage. I'm not sure how they'd determine which DUST accounts were active if they allowed to PS3 users to vote on representatives though. I mean, I could easily make a few alternate PSN IDs and play a match in each daily during that month etc.
Edit: Yeah, due to the fact that EVE is free, I don't see a separate CSM or non-EVE playing CSM Delegate working out. They'd almost have to play both games to represent DUST and EVE.
CSM Overview @ EVE Insider wrote:During the election period you will be able to see a list of the candidates running for one of the nine positions on the council on the candidates page. If your account is active and older than 30 days, you will be able to place a vote for your chosen candidate. The nine candidates who receive the highest number of votes will become the delegates of the next CSM, and the five candidates in positions ten through fourteen will become alternates. |

I doubt it. as eve players would have to take into account dust players anyway. |
