The Intaki Liberation Front is a roleplaying and Intaki-aligned group of freedom fighters. We are seeking new and experienced mercenaries to support our pursuit of independence for, and to protect the law-abiding citizens of, the Intaki sovereignty. The Intaki sovereignty is an area of space we believe should secede from the Gallente Federation. Citizens in this area already struggle daily against the challenges of living in lowsec Placid, as CONCORD offers no protection from capsuleer pirates nor Serpentis drug runners in a majority of systems here. With planetary conquest continuing in Molden Heath, it is only a matter of time before hostile infantry forces will be able to spread into regions like Placid, bringing chaos and destruction with them. We must prepare now for this imminent threat to baseliner and immortal residents alike, and we want you to help us do it! We pursue our mission through: - anti-pirate combat - forming positive relationships with other groups - improving the local economy through mining, industry and trade - political lobbying We are mostly a pilot-oriented corporation but have recently established our mercenary wing to support our pilots and the Intaki people. Our mercenary wing is still small, but diligent and always ready to help our cause when called upon. By joining now you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of this area of the corp! Ideal candidates will be: - active, display initiative, and become involved with ILF mandates - willing to adhere to ILF operational guidelines - spreading the word of ILF's mandate to other clone soldiers - able to operate and fight on behalf of the ILF solo or as part of a squad - willing to roleplay Frequently Asked Questions: Roleplaying? The Intaki Liberation Front has made an effort to ensure its website, official communications, and other venues are as GÇ£in-characterGÇ¥ as possible to fit in with the overall lore of New Eden. We do not require prior experience in roleplaying, but you need to have some interest in it. Characters should have believable secessionist motivations and should be ready to roleplay while in-game, at least on public channels. How big is the Intaki Liberation Front? Currently we have a few dozen pilots and several mercenaries to help our cause, active in numerous timezones. Do you participate in Factional Warfare? CONCORDGÇÖs Emergency Militia War Powers Act only allows groups to participate in the Empyrean War if they formally declare themselves in support of one of the four empires. Since the Intaki Liberation Front is not aligned with any empire, itGÇÖs not possible for us to participate as a GÇ£militiaGÇ¥. We make no special distinction between groups who are GÇ£militiasGÇ¥ and groups that arenGÇÖt. However, as the empires inexplicably make their military contracts available to the public, our mercenaries are granted permission to take them from all empires on an equal basis and use the spoils to further our cause for independence. TL;DR, DUST mercenaries can participate in factional warfare battles, but we do not fight for a specific side, we preferably accept contracts from all the empires. What about Planetary Conquest? We are greatly interested in claiming districts in Placid should they become available. Do you have tax? Corporation tax is 10% for all members. Taxes are used to benefit members via benefit programs such as free skillbooks and ship/suit reimbursement. You can also suggest your own benefit programs if you join today! I'm a team player and I specialize in AV, counter insurgency and infiltration. I am not a scout, I'm just a very resilient Assault user who occasionally dons a Commando suit. I never reinforce the part of the map where my team is winning I spawn where we are losing. I am the one who counters hacks, kills hackers, the one who runs around the perimeter of the action to hack the points no one dares to hack; my philosophy is flanking. Put your flags up in the sky. I tend to stay with a group, when there is one, and if there isn't, I'm likely to be doing what you do, flanking with uplinks and hacks. On the topic of freedom, I believe that more than anything the peoples (because they're a diverse bunch, not just Intaki ethnic) in the home system itself simply would like the autonomy that neither side of the Empyrean conflict seems willing to allow. The leadership on Intaki have contracted the safety of the Homeworld to our kindred, the mercenaries of Mordu's Legion, rather than face the "policing" enforced by constantly shifting Naval forces. Instead of enduring the misuse of resources under the Caldari, or the outright abandonment of the Gallente at the onset of the Empyrean conflict, we of the ILF would rather help form a sovereign government. We find this preferable to being beholden to the whims of faraway Empires. What could be more free than that? Current Views: 2632 The culture would be free, but I worry about the freedom of the individual. Because the Intaki make up a fifth of the Federation population and currently hold the second greatest political and intellectual power in the Federation it is reasonable to expect the Federation to protect the Intaki more. I would actually argue that the lack of protection for the Intaki systems is due to years of Intaki sympathy for the Caldari and the lobbying of Intaki to avoid aggressive foreign policy. It is hypocritical that many Intaki have been 'Doves' in relation to political beliefs, though after witnessing the results of their policies they blame the Federation as a whole. The Federation military is too small for the territory it controls to be secured properly. From a military perspective it doesn't matter because Federal forces have well trained soldiers that are given the best equipment available. Though, since the Federation only has a volunteer army it is small. Smaller than that of the less populous Caldari State. It is small enough that drones are necessary to not only supplement this difference in personnel, but to protect personnel from being lost as canon fodder. The Federation Forces simply need to be expanded. The Intaki should lead this expansion. The ethnic Gallente have been mismanaging the Federal Navy by spreading it out thinly at best and keeping it centralized at worst. It's time for change. Put your flags up in the sky. We'd still be a "part" of the Federation, but we'd still be an autonomous entity. And yes, many of us may align politically with the Doves, rather than say the easily swayed Magpies, or Ida forbid, the Vultures. But a stance protesting expansion doesn't mean failing in the defense of systems already considered to be part of the Federation, which is what happened with Intaki. The restrictions placed on AI development have necessitated the continued use of flesh and blood soldiers on the battlefields of New Eden. The drones you speak of are primarily relegated to support and maintenance, roles where higher level cognitive processes and adaptability are for the most part unnecessary. The biggest reason the Caldari are able to field such a large military force is that their people aren't given a choice in the matter. Most healthy young and women are required to srrve tours of duty if they intend to reap the full benefits of Caldari citizenship. As you say, the Federation Navy is comprised of primarily volunteers, which leads to a smaller, but more effective military force. I will concede that perhaps the Federation is attempting to control more than they are currently able, but this isn't likely due to the so far unceasing war with the Caldari and to a lesser extent the Amarr. Getting any majority of the Intaki people to agree to the kind of military expansion necessary to grow the Fed Navy will be an unlikely proposition. If said Naval expansion could be used to protect the Federation's abandoned allies, then there might be a shift in public opinion. As it stands however, it is far more likely such an expansion would be used to further foreign campaigns of aggression. On a lighter note, I'll inform Denak of your Directorship and record his subsequent descent into insanity, for posterity of course. Nonetheless I still see end of match statistics with 6+ people from the same corp topping the board on the other side. Not complaining mind you, that I'm seeing these squads means I must be doing something right as a Logi, as I rarely get kills, only assists. One day I'll pass 0.97, (shakes fist) ONE DAY!
