Would be cool in a perfect world but in reality that's PLENTY of work. Plus CCP has the pull to generate PS4 sales and following. PS4 is lacking a FPS that has much potential as Dust. |

Potential is irrelevant, except that is was the only consistently mentioned positive in all the scathing reviews of Dust after the botched release.
The team in shanghai is not sufficient to make a high quality game right now. CCP pissed away a year of resources on Legion and that baby is dead.
Oh yeah, and at least some of the Shanghai staff are working on that unnamed mobile product.
All the signs on the road are that Dust won't get a port and they are running out the clock while keeping the registers open.

With all the whining I hear about, "B-but PS4 is already a computer!", fine let's put the damn thing on both. Development already takes place on PC (no doubt) and CCP has an ongoing relationship with Sony as evidenced by Dust existing and Valkyrie going on their VR platform. A good chunk of the dev team in Shanghai that's working on Valkyie is going to have to go *somewhere*, and with the experience that they've gained on the UE4 engine the reallocation of resources will no doubt go to Dust and its port. The fact that Dust is now profitable AND the current skeleton crew had proven that they can keep up a momentum of actual development only helps our case.

OK, thanks for your opinions. But for me, I don't write people off until they meet their graves. I believe in Shanghai. They can do it.

Talk and action is two different things. You haven't even considered the gap between PC/kbm and console/controller input problem.
No offense, but I don't like arguing points just to argue. I like to think my thoughts out with sensibility. It seems you have not done such thing with the opinion of dual console/PC FPS game development. |

It seems you have not done such thing with the opinion of dual console/PC FPS game development. You correctly point out that the difference in controls is a HUGE hurdle that many users on these forums seem to discount. The only way to allow console players to be fully competetive with PC players would be to implement such heavy-handed amounts of Aim-Assist that PC players wouldn't want to play the game anyway.
The simple truth is that you can't have it both ways. The game has to be either PC or Console, but it cannot be both.
