Now the news is out and the elections due for July I can confirm I'll be running again.
The tinfoilers of you (sorry, couldn't resist ) may care to note that July is a year since our election, a years term. Who'd have thunk it eh?
It should also hopefully underline CCP's continued commitment to the game to you all.

End of july hopefully. Give new candidates if any, time to run. Hopefully some new blood in there, as a scummy forum warrior my self, i'd like to see people who speak with the wider community, and not troll them.
On New blood:
BAMM FOR CPM2
Jadek: good relationship with the devs, and understand how exploits work and is willing to stamp them out.
Maybe Aeon (though i've argued with him a bit) he's petty much an unofficial CPM member, getting devs to participate in community prizes, this is a good thing. I don't share some of his wider views on the game, but thats okay.
Probably not Saxxonamish, he's too willing to tailor the game to his own playstyle.
I have no idea if Pokey or True would run, but i'd throw a vote thier way if they did.
On Old Blood:
Certainly Cross. Spoek the most, trolled the least.
Maybe you. xoxo
Sir Man Boy, Zatara, I just never saw enough from them to decide either way.
Definitly not Soraya or IWS. Too much trolling goin on, and a distinct lack of understanding of what the community wants.
Not Spero either. Community is only starting to recover from the blue donut he created. Any CPM that will coordinate efforts lock players out of the game, doesn't deserve to be on there.

no but seriously, how often have you seen cross, zatara, judge, iws, soraya hell even the op in game? A whole list of aholes who you never see in pubs or PC? Hell even FW at this point. All this is is a chance to draw names out of a hat for no reason. Shenanigans.

True has no plans to run, he's said loudly that he wouldn't have a clue what to do.
I liked Cross and IWS, I hated Soraya "i got your vehicle nerfed" Xel, It's a shame that Judge abandoned dust, I never really got to interact with other CPM members though.
If pokey ran, he'd probably pretty high up in my list.
I will never run for CPM, I do not play nicely with others.

New blood is important, I'd be glad of some new faces should I be a successful incumbent. I will miss the guys I've worked with over this last year of course.
Just some free advice for anyone considering to run before electioneering really kicks in.
Don't think for one moment that you have power over CCP or even a veto. It's their show and their resources. If you have any notion or belief that you can arrive and start dictating terms, don't run.
While a certain amount of ego is required to even consider running for election, a 'what this game needs is me!' kind of mindset, you also need to know when to stifle it. Nearly all of our work directly with CCP and within our group is very cooperative and much more productive as a result. If you can't work in a group, don't run.
A thick skin and a high tolerance of BS is a must. You'll hear opinions about yourself that you personally won't recognise but others will hold them. If your a shrinking violet don't run.
Have an open mind. There are long standing conceits and beliefs held by the community about many aspects of the game. I had a few and they were blown out of the water once I was presented with actual facts and raw data. To quote the wise one 'you must unlearn what you have learned'.
Not a team player? Definitely don't run.
Have a sense of humour. There's things said, espoused and brought to the community's attention that are so far removed from the actual reality you deal with each day that the only reaction is to laugh. That or stress till you facepalm.
That's just the stuff from the top of my head. Anyone wanting advice on something specific then please ask. o7

Reign,
I'd like to answer your criticism about my 'not' being in the game. First of all I'm EU time zone so that may be the major reason you don't see me so often. The game is played near 24/7 all over the world. This is the number one thing a lot of players forget when claiming someone is never on. What is being proclaimed as 'fact' a lot of time is actually 'X player isn't on when I'm on'.
The hours I'm usually active in Dust are between 19.00 and 01.00 eve time. I quite often when I get a day off work just veg out and play all day. When RL allows of course.
What I advise to players wishing to check on myself, another CPM or a potential CPM is to add them to your Contacts List and check their activity against yours.
The last time I put in a request in via a ticket, my total play time came to about 1300 hours in game just on Kevall.
I also run D-UNI and need to use my Eve character Dennie Fleetfoot to do the admin. So often on there rather than in Dust.
The channels I lurk in are few to keep performance up on the PS3 but the channels I'm always in are Comms.D-UNI and Lucent Echelon.

I can vouch for this ^ I'm also a EU player (from the same corp) and I see Kevall a lot. Sometimes we squad up, and sometimes we try to shoot each other in the face in FW |

Also its june, that doesnt leave any amount of time for significant garnering of any realistic platform for any of the new candidates. Nor does it allow information gathering for the general populus.
There needs to be a bigger better platform for this type of thing, if it even makes an impact in game.
I don't like judging participation by how often i've run across the players in game. Hell, i doubt anybody would recognize me in game, since i don't particularly stand out, nor am i a member in the bigger corps.
The only real lithmus test is how closely do CPM posts reflect current meta. If they do, even if i disagree, at least it shows they are keeping in touch with how dust is being played at the moment.

Also, contrary to popular belief even though there are some CPM who are less active in the game and they can still contribute a lot to the game, just by knowledge and experience alone.

I have a lot of faith in our announced incumbents re-running, like Cross and Dennie, to carry forward the wealth of knowledge the current CPM has on how to effectively work with CCP to a new council, so I'm confident I can retire from politics now. You can have a dialogue on topics and changes without releasing information, or breaking NDA. Just check out Cross Atu''s posting in this thread. Thats a current ongoing thread, I'm sure Ratatti has let Cross know or will let him know exactly what will be done to Logis before the rest of us. But thats a good sign of how to communicate / discuss properly.
I haven't seen any criticism of a CPM member posting too much. It's usually either about the quality (or lack thereof) of the content of their posts that gets them attention. Either that or somebody starts yelling about in-game time.

I will not be running again**
I have enjoyed serving on CPM1 and am quite comfortable with the contributions we have made as a team. I would be quite happy to answer anyone who might have concerns.
I will be taking an active part in the election process and am confident we will have a worthy group of candidates ready to assist CCP and fight for the community's causes in the next year of Dust514's development.
**(unless it is announced before the time that the window for applications is closed that Dust is being ported in the next 6 months and even then I may not that would simply be the one criteria I have that must be met in order for me to justify running again)
