It's been 3 months now since I started playing Dust again and I just cant get on with aiming mechanics in this game. They feel far too twitchy in the middle of the stick and too sluggish on the outside.
I've been playing bad company 2 again recently and aiming in that game feels a million times better., so smooth and responsive.
Surely this is one aspect of the game that can be improved upon still. Come on CCP!! |

You best add it to the pile from 12 months plus of closed beta.
PS.. CCP left us on one build for 6 months whilst they went to work on 'core mechanics' - what did we get 'improved graphics' (apparently *shrug*)

While i do agree that the aiming is genuinely crap, I feel that each thing that is bad has its' merits.
Stick Acceleration, that is, how fast you turn increases the longer you hold a certain direction, allows you to have the accuracy with little inputs or to spin quickly with a held input, is a staple in most AAA games, however this game IMO relies on "you simply out strafed that sniper in CQC, his loss."
Other games have Aim Adhesion and Aim Magnetism, both of which achieve simlar results but in separate ways that, when combined, reduce the possibility of user error and make it simply "point your cursor near them and hold R1, whoever gets AA to stick first wins", but in Dust there is no Adhesion, which is the cursor slowing down when crossing a target. Aim Magnetism causes the aim to autonomously change direction to follow a target.
