o/
i was very excited for this game and am completely addicted to a point...
will there be a server placed anywhere near my side of the planet? (australia) at this point id say the ping is lucky to get below say 400 based off what im seeing ingame and regularly spikes out to god knows what... particularly when climbing any staircases (i have no idea what that is about)
if there arent any plans for a server near australia (within even 5000 km would be nice) then im afraid you wont be keeping anyone here enthralled. emptying a clip into a wall instead of someones face ISNT what i signed up for.
apart from the lag there is great potential for this game and i can see it keeping the smarter/ mature fps fans addicted for quite some time. with new stuff on the horizon all the time its a game that keeps on giving (finally)
please if there is a ccp god let them hear the frustrated roaring comming from the south and give us a server pwetty pwese

I am also interested to know if CCP with go the glorious Bioware route or the scumbag Blizzard route.
(also noticed the stairs thing, not sure what the deal is with that) |

i understand in Australia there is bad lag, but also currently i'm in the US experiencing bad lag. i believe i've also seen a dev talking about the need for Asia-Pacific servers so hopefully there will be some love out that way. which makes me wonder anyway, they're developing Dust in Shanghai |

Im in the UK and I get "bad lag".
I wonder if the lag hasn't got more to do with the games present instability.
We will find out at the next patch |

I'm in Australia and I'll admit there's a fair bit of lag, at times more than at others. I don't think it makes the game unplayable at this point though (most of the time), and I'm pretty sure people from most of the world are getting terrible latencies at the moment. I do live close to my exchange though.
I'd like to see client side hit detection more than dedicated servers simply because I will end up playing against people from all over the world, not just my region.

Although I'm agreed to Oceanic Servers (since I'm Australian myself I'll call it) but we have to remember, no matter where the 'battle servers' are... we'll be playing a SINGLE shard universe... as far as I know, unless there's to be some 'serverchoice system' tha t will allow attackers, or defenders, or random, to choose regional servers for each conflict, we'll all be on the same servers? |
