I see this as reasonable. They are the race that is the 'scrappiest' so why bother making a knife when the Caldari have already made one?
Weird analogy but it reminds me of documentary I saw on different self-defense styles. Many of the Eastern ones were equally physical and philosophical. When it got to Krav Maga, that obviously wasn't the case. The expert stated "The idea behind it was to protect the Jewish people with 'whatever worked.' Different karate styles might have a totally different block for a one handed or two handed throat grab; Krav Maga's idea was 'one thing that worked, no matter the situation.' So most similar attacks can be defended with the same easy to learn, efficient block."

Bearing in mind that Caldari, like Gallente, use -Hybrid weapons- which also include blasters (which the Assault Rifle is). So, honestly, it's not that bad. If it had less curves and a blue paint job nobody would be complaining but because half the Dust 514 community doesn't #Eve-Lore then, well, yeah.
