Got scammed 2 days in a row and it feels like ****.
Yesterday I got scammed out of 25 mil and today I got scammed out of 30 mil.
Now I know it is my fault but still I thought I should make a thread about it.
Players names were jehuty10 (and he was from 0uter.Heaven) and the other is abudlah muzaffar (I am assuming this one was a scam alt someone made) but man does it feel like crap getting scammed.

Nah, not from here on Dust. There was a comic I read ages ago with a character named Buwaro who was a purple demon thing, and I commented that you should run Quafe suits since they're purple. But then I realized Buwaro may exist as a name outside that comic, googled it up, and lo and behold, it wasn't the same character. |

Thing is, before I got scammed, I went and checked his player info and it had another corp name (can't remember it sadly) after I got scammed I went and looked abdulah muzaffar on search and the only one that popped up was the Random Gunz one so that's why I assumed it was a scam alt by another person.

Yeah I know it does seem kinda hard to believe but then again, if you knew me IRL you would know that bad luck is technically my middle name and after getting scammed twice in a row, I will now use a middleman for all my trading affairs UNLESS you are proven 100% safe.

Aaaaaand my bad, I misinterpreted what youngest members meant in that top 10 bit. It's actual character age, not how long they've been in the corp. There are other characters who have been recruited more recently than Dreis. |

With that said.
Maybe, just maybe one your recruiters (or anyone with recruiting permissions) is taking advantage of 0.H's name and using it to scam people so 0.H will need to round up and look for the scammer.
Now, why he does not appear in the ingame member list is a mystery. Maybe Dustboard does not update corp in for daily? Maybe he he got accepted into 0.H, scammed me (probably a few other players as well) then left the corp to not appear suspicious.

This must be true, since quite a few people have joined 0.H after me. I am quite a young character though, and that's probably what it means. I've also never seen him online.

You should probably screenshot the Dustboard info of jehuty10 and guide tell some of the leading members about it.
does 0.H accept applications from everyone? If so, it may have been a random player.
But if they don't, someone with recruiting permission most have made that alt, placed themselves in 0.H and scammed then left and probably and most likely biomassed.

Yeah, I made another post to correct myself with that. Still, though, according to that list they're the only member that's less than a year old. That tells me that 0.H is at least a little selective about their recruits. And I don't think Dustboards takes into account when a character is deleted. Look up KNEAR LIGHT and tell me what you see there. So that character, and every additional character created with that name, is forever on the board, even after deletion.
So I seriously think someone recruited an alt to 0.H, scammed as many people as they could, and wiped the character. Does your corp keep logs of who joined and who accepted an invite/recruited a character? I'm not in a high place in a corp, so I don't know if certain things are kept track of, like the in-game wallet's transaction history. |

I always look up how many kills someone has before trading, not failsafe but gives a good indication of character age. |

Then he biomassed as a member of OH.
When a character is biomassed they are put into a cryofreeze like state where most of their data is stored in I believe Doomheim? Although that may be just in Eve (see the resurrection of GJR). So once biomassed, they are unaccessible in Dust or Eve (iirc), but the data is still stored on the server, and so Dustboard and Eveboard still state the character is in the corporation, as technically they are, but they are unplayable.

Yeah I was scammed yesterday too with regard to a skin trade. It's just annoying. The game is already dead enough without douche bags creating alts with similar names as well known players just to scam people. This is why ccp wanted to do a high loyalty rank to allow trades.
Ccp should just have a proper trade system where both players can see the trade items before accepting. This scouts honor **** is stressful for no reason. I mean I understand some level of scamming to happen but it's out of control already.
Wtf is the point of scamming in this game. Anyone worth a damn can already spam proto suits as much as they please. **** it I'll just stop playing, not because I'm upset, but because people are pathetic losers, competition is gone, and I get scammed when all I wanted to do was make my commando look cooler lol. |

I am starting to notice more and more perma-hardened madrugars v.0 on almost all battles now too...
But yeah, this game is still very much on life support and scammers and identity thieves are helping pull the cables out. Like all those scams in vain when (if) this game dies

The point of a middle man is that they are a reputable independent party that you and the trader know. A Chibbra figure comes to mind but really you are not going to find anyone like it, honestly the best way is to find a friend and ask the person you are dealing with if he knows him also.
