hi, first sorry for my bad english, im not native
so most of the HAV pilot gonna agree with me (most not all)
tank are too squishy, they die too fast, they dont give a real threat to other player
etc etc etc etc
so, i've came with an idea, why not adding a new version of each HAV, i mean leave the normal tank the way they are (for the people who love them) and a new one with the possibility to "deploy" (deploy is not unknow in eve online, "marauder, dreadghnout")
of course to deploy the "new HAV" would need the module, but could be different version of it too exemple :
- infantry module "when deployed allied infantry can respawn, reload and being rep in close range of the tank" for the tank itself: cant move anymore but got buff to (shield armor ) can be dmg reduction, HP extended or whatever
- Siege Module "When deployed the tank cant move anymore, but got a slight increase in firing speed, and reload speed"
-Cloak module "when deployed tank can still move but only at 35% max speed, firing speed and reload speed are reduced, and cant use active module, but the tank itself and nearby allied infantry are "cloaked" means they cant be scanned and tank cant be locked by swarm"
i think you got my point, im giving this sugestion because well (tired of seeing every HAV being destroyed in no time ) but mainly, to give a purpose to teammate to help "protecting those, and in same time giving a meaning for HAV to join the team fight, and being able to help in theire way
could bring back the HAV pilot back to the field
what do you guys think about it ?is it a good idea ?
and if you want to go further in the ideawe could use the warbarge with an optional module to produce kind of fuel for the deploy module, avoiding that way too much deployable tank on the field (but regular tank could still come like normal) |

I like the idea of a support HAV that provides something for allied infantry, like the Sunderer from Planetside 2.

it will be a "new" variant so of course some change have to be done to be balanced

Anything in fps that "deploys" or "sieges" is dull and dumb and unimaginative. What works for eve capital ships won't necessarily work for a action shooter.
Looking at both sides of the coin.
Even Aurum one.

my apologies but atm PS2 is WAY better than dust 514 (with his dull, dumb, and unimaginative vehicle)
if dust514 was like CoD, your comment could be right
but in a game who want to put vehicle, and give them a survival rate of 5% its pretty

dust 514 is a FPS yes but not only ...
its good too answear but just saying, "lolololol its stupid that it!" wont help at all ... if you could tell me, why you think its stupid (in term of gameplay) will be happy to hear your answear |

last time I drove my STD fit HAV'S....they DEFENTLY... arnt easy kill.....well when iam driving.
when iam playing as AV only **** fit tanks are easy to kill. its the properly fitted tanks that make a challenge to kill.
oh and as for my PROTO HAV's good luck trying to kill it easily

well im fitting PROTO fit only too,
and even if i have all skill maxed in every "skill" related to tank, still got easily killed
s for my fitting i put only shield buff item
2 hardener, 1 booster, 2 ext (highest meta ofc)
i dont think my fitting is so bad maybe not the best but not bad either
ANYWAY, that not the point here ...
and as for trying to kill your OP tank, anytime send me your PSN ID and im on your challenge ! |

Immobile tanks would be deathtraps. Period. They do not work well with EVE dreadnought logic applied to them.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

My point, if you would apply critical thinking, is that tanks have a weakspot, where there is a damage multiplier.
If the tank is immobilized, it makes it trivially easy for someone like me to circle around, get a bead and obliterate the tank before anyone can properly react. Since it is immobile, it cannot escape or turn to deny me the shot.
This is why I say HAVs in DUST are not like Dreads, this is because the dreads have no vulnerable spots you can target for extra damage.
Immobile tanks would be deathtraps because of that singular feature.

well its easyli fixed, when "deployed", some armor plate could move to cover a "small" portion of the weak spot, giving more "survivability"
but at that point it could be easily protected just put your back next to a wall and deploy
and the idea is to give to your team mate a kind of "outpost" with you deployed, means lot of them gonna be arround, and ofc protecting you from incoming fire, ennemy team wil try to take you out, meanwhile team mate trying to protect you, could lead to some awesome gameplay honestly |
