I remember the days when I played EVE Online I always heard the term (FC) or Fleet Commander but what if Dust 514 had that same opportunities but only a player based q-sync system of having 2 squads of 6 players and the third squad only to have 4 players allowed per match if you are planning a 16 on 16 match whether it's Ambush or Domination and or vice versa.
The term Foot Commander should be the official term for FC in Dust 514.
Now you ask how do I become a foot commander?
Step 1: Commitment
If you are interested in becoming a FC there are two types of FC's that you should be aware of.
Corp or Alliance FC
If your corporation has the numbers I would personally recommend that a medium sized corp with 100 to 450 players and with at least 32 active players running 2 matches while 1 person gets to give the orders to the SL's or Squad Leaders so that they can give the order to their squads.
Coalition FC
Now this person would mean business and will not take any trolling or interruptions, Ever! If you're interested in running a coalition of 2 or more alliances you will need to keep a couple of channels for not only your squads and their members but a separate channel for leadership within the coalition command or CC.
Step 2: Recommended rules and regulations
Major priority one rule for all members participating is don't speak or text unless spoken or texted to. The one that should be talking is the FC.
Second important rule for squad leaders if you have a concern about another squad leader's abilities to run a squad send the FC a mail to talk about the conflict on a separate channel.
Be sure to end it quickly with the FC saying the word "Noted", then return to normal op.
Third rule of law is that it is imperative to listen in on Comms if you're a squad leader you can talk. Otherwise keep Comms clear. The FC has the authority to kick you out if a certain individual or a squad is not listening or talking on Comms. Remember there can only be one warning.
That's all I can think of at this point but I am open for discussion or Questions and Answers on the forums only.

In PC we've always called it a field commander.
Foot Commander sounds like awkward fetish stuff

Ground Commander in order to differentiate from Fleet Commander.
You know, both could be on same comms.

I was thinking of having one person in charge of the operation. Like a Field Marshall in the military or a general under the order of the Admiral (depending on the rank) & that Admiral would be followed by the CEO, unless it's the CEO filling in as Admiral or vice versa.
