Born True Amarr, but poor parents
Resented his parents status
Stuck with parents out of duty while his brother ran away
When parents died made a life for himself, moving up in status
Highly religious and very much married to duty. Clean edge type of guy.

Jamyl Sarum is written as a particular kind of woman with the mannerisms of a polite, young Amarrian woman that is afflicted by a constant unfathomable sense of spiritual dissonance. She was a girl who idealistically dreamed of being the Empress one day however after undergoing the trials of becoming the Empires she now looks atthe Faith as a pragmatic solution to controlling power within her empire.

At the same time she has this aura that most people simply cannot understand and that is both awe inspiring and terrifying at the same time.

When the authors write her her manner of speech always seems to imply something more that what she is saying on the surface, and it usually pertains to spiritual matters rather than mundane things like military conquest as if she is already self assured that victory is inevitable, or at least defeat is impossible.

Think of how disturbing it would be talking to the most stunningly beautiful woman you have ever met whom you know is the master of trillions of souls including yourself, who speaks of concepts you simply cannot begin to understand is a pleasant tone as if it were nothing but generic conversation, and at the same time could have you flayed alive several times over if you displease her even slightly.
