Any other logies get frustrated with the time it takes to lock onto a target with rep tool ?
By the time I've seen a blue requiring reps and switched from weapon to rep tool and then locked onto a target the target is dead. Even when I've been dancing in front of them with my tool in their face. (Giggle). The response time to lock onto target can take about 5 seconds. It should be the same as pressing the trigger for main weapon. Unless there is a charge up time of course. |

bump, ive also found sometimes it just wont lock if we are both moving.
i'm having to wait to see if it locks, stop, let go, lock again and cross fingers.
makes switching between multiple targets ridiculously hard while under fire.

I find it easier to tag them with R1 than to hold it down and drag the cursor across my intended target. I also always run dual beams so I usually always tag the one I want. It is a tad bit sensitive tho...

I actually just made a new char, since it's new, I started using a militia logi, cause points. It has two weapon slots and comes stock with an armor repper and a needle. I've been noticing this lag on lock on time with the repper. Figured it was just cause it is a militia repper

Meh idk to be honest I think rep tools should take some sort of charge up time. Atm its the only equipment without drawback (besides scanner n even that has charge up time). To be able to latch on almost immediately to someone rake in so much wp n be infinite idk to me its a good team tool but nobody ever wants to say it is abused. Two reppers locking on to a heavy rake in rep and guardian points not to mention heavys is being repped faster than damage can be done. Makes camping an objective to easy for armor based heavys whereas min and cal heavys dont see as much help from it

Now you mention it, I did stop using my cores / 6-kins when switched to Acquisition & switched to Amarr logi - but when I've used them again in Dom recently, I've found myself getting more frustrated at the lock on than I remember - even with the dual beams. Not sure if I'm just not used to them again.
Not a shameless plug (honest guv) but a very recent example of extensive rep tool usage - recorded Sunday - there might be some evidence included (or just of my shocking aim with the repper).

Few weeks back...erm. Maybe a few months back? I lose track. Whatever. I skilled into a logi to change the pace up a bit. It's been a few years since playing with one so, there's my context.
Anyway. Yeah, I noticed something screwy when targeting with a rep tool. To be clear, I'm not complaining. It was just pure confusion. I couldn't tell if there was a charge-up delay? Was it that my target was out of range? Was it lag? Hell, was I hitting the wrong button? lol. I figured it was range, so I'd just run up on whoever, give them a big ole hug while taking fire, then back off once I locked on. It worked, but probably just circumstantial and had nothing to do with what I was actually trying to do.
Point is, I couldn't source a single thing as to how or why during game play, and just accepted it as wonky mechanics. Even more so trying to target one out of multiple blues.
I haven't used a rep in forever, so clue me in. This is how it's supposed to be? If it's a charge up, some visual cue would help reduce those few moments of confusion wondering if it's broke, if I'm broken, or random. lol.
If I'm doing it it wrong, help a logi-baby out and clue me (us) in? lol. I don't want to be a stereotypical white girl anymore. Being a guy, it just confuses my family.

Rep tools have had lock issues since beta. TBH, I've gotten used to it, but it really irritates me when I have a dual rep and can't lock my squad mate, yet a bluedot runs behind him, and it locks the bluedot...

Exactly my problem. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Makes it hard to logi when a HMG trigger response is instant And you have to wait for your tool to lock on to your target. |

Getting outkilled by proto suits when the enemy gets redlined? No matter, find the biggest tryhard and throw a rep on them. You'll get 35 WP for every kill they get, and more if they get shot at.

Madness. Generally speaking, if my rep target dies, I should be able to at least escape? They hate us logi so bad lol.
