Planetary Conquest Updated Designs By CCP Rattati
When: Saturday May 30 @ 1500 Eastern Standard Time / 1900 Eve Time Channel: Lecture.D-UNI <----note the period Twitter: @Henry_Haphorn <----where I post my reminders
I decided it would be great to cover this topic for this coming Saturday. Now, for those who might get confused, the Eve Time is the same as the hour you see in the upper-right corner of the forum page next to the date. You can also access the current hour in game in Eve Time by looking at the bottom of the NEOCOM main menu.
I like to make a personal request to the members of the Think Tank or anyone who is actively involved in Planetary Conquest to join in on this lecture for two reasons.
1. I have only ever had one match in PC and that was way back when D-UNI was involved in PC and that was it. D-UNI is not involved in PC anymore. However, because of the recent discussion started by CCP Rattati, we are now likely to go back to PC in the future.
2. I would rather have an experienced PC player or someone who has more direct understanding of what is going on in the Think Tank to help out in case some key questions need to be answered. This will help with the discussion very much and help everyone be on the same page.
The reason I am putting this together as a topic for the lecture is because this will impact everyone in game especially those who don't come to the forums and thus might not know what's going to happen when PC 2.0 get implemented. Assuming those people have any interests at all in PC. If not, the idea of Raiding Districts might entice them. In the meantime, I am currently reviewing the entire thread that I linked above. I will have a long list of notes to compile as well for me to use based on the thread I reviewed.
NOTES
For the sake of keeping it organized this time, I ask that all attendants please hold on to their questions until the very end of the lecture. This is because the question you have might get answered anyways later on in the lecture as I progress through my notes. I do have notes for this stuff so I know where I am. If at the end of the lecture the question has not been answered, then you can ask them when we start the Question & Answer session. However, if you feel that the question you have is very important and must be brought up, please be polite about it and let me know that you have a question whether in chat or in voice comms. Don't just blurt out the question anyways. I'm not trying to be a dictator over here. I'm just wanting everyone to exercise some basic chat etiquette. Ask yourself this question: How would you feel if someone cuts you off without even being nice about it?
Please let everyone know who you are when you talk. A lot of players here, myself included, have a hard time associating voices with names in a chat channel and the green bubble marker next to your name is not an effective indicator as I have learned over the years.
Always assume that the lecture is being recorded. I do not have the hardware necessary for recording the audio so I have to rely on others to do that for me. I like to thank IAmDuncanIdaho for helping me with that. For those of you who don't know, he has his own YouTube Channel where he posts the audio on the lectures. This is mainly for those who missed the lecture for reasons beyond their control such as going to work, being in class on time, it's far too early/late for them to attend, wife aggro, Cat Merc needs to be fed some milk, corp needs, etc.
Finally, this is just a reminder that this lecture is strictly for letting everyone know what is going on in the forums regarding this topic. It is not meant to be a place to discuss your own ideas as that is the job of the Feedback section of the forums. Not mines. Therefore, whether you agree or not with the possible changes to Planetary Conquest is of no concern to me. I am just the messenger there. That is what the lecture is for anyways. All that matters to me is whether you agree or disagree with an informed mind.
I hope to see you all at the lecture.
Cheers,
Maken Tosch

I'm almost done with my notes as a rough draft and will then be proofreading it. I will have everything ready for the lecture when it starts. Again, I like to make a personal request to anyone out there who is deeply involved in PC to participate in the lecture in case any critical questions need to be addressed or important points need to be made as I am not entirely privy to the current mechanics of PC.

Looking forward to introducing DUST UNI to more meta lessons Maken.
The last one was HILARIOUS.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

Ok everyone. The lecture has finished and so far it went smoothly with more people in attendance. A nice shout out to Jadek, Foehammer, Dennie, and other forum warriors for showing up. Special thanks to Starlight for recording the audio who has put in the time to do so.

Hopefully the amount of Command Points needed to attack a district would mitigate that. But the Command Point cost should not be too much either. We want new corps to try out Planetary Conquest, not be intimidated by it.
