That is possible for ONE REAL reason:
The redlines are too close to the focal point of the fights. Period.
All other aspects are necessary: the tank fitting ability, the existence of redline, the tanks ability to survive one or two AV/antitanktank hits...

That is not my idea but I do like it we should push the redline back on most maps and push back the MCC and ground spawns in the redline with it. While also adding some areas that snipers can get a decent view out of.
The for this is for the obvious redline campers no risk a lot of reward, and there's the fact that there's one merc sniper holding down an entire team and just runs right back into the redline when damage is taken so if you enjoy that position good for you but your not going to be getting tucked into bed by the redline anymore.

You don't need many people to spawn camp. If the spawn areas are exposed to the enemy team, they will be camped...
My hope is that CCP take the portal concept a little further and use them to facilitate the move of the MCC (and the redline) further from the battlefield. Vehicles will drive fast to the objective and infantry use the portals to get into the fight quicker.
Now we just need to find a way to prevent spawn camping of the portals of course

would support automated spawn defenses. give players options on beginning spawn locations.

I remember in closed beta, even with the redline, we would have Thales sniping our ground spawn, and HAVs shooting into the MCC.
