Well, the other game I am most familiar with is Planetside 2.
And an amazing percentage of 'must haves' or 'changes to (random feature)' is how that game plays.
Not that I expect or even really want Dust to become PS2. It is just often funny to read the posts and roll my eyes. Yep, great idea. I play a game that already does that.
Somehow I doubt if they really want to know that detail.
Good Luck out there.

Yea like proper vehicle lock we've been asking 3 years for and no redline play. Planetside 2 can become incredibly redundant tho after seeing a 2 hour stalemate, it probably helps to have some form of ingame comms/text which dust totally trumps ps2 in that department, theyre not gonna retain this wave of recruits if they dont do something about the fkng comms soon. There is the option of signing up on one of the outfit recruiting websites but i already deal with enuff narcissism at work. i accept friend invites in ps2 sadly knowing we will probably never network due to incomplete friending system/auto squads. I have an extra code but i'm not wasting it again on someone who just plays other games all day, i was gonna give it to my nephew but he has too much of a life to waste the code on him. I need a no lifer who doesn't suck on the mic i hear enuff whining at work.

Vehicle lock would fix so many little irritations in Dust. Sadly, it will never happen, much like anything else benefiting a tanker. I always run a (mostly useless) squad just to allow myself time to get in my tank uninterrupted. Although keeping blues out while I roll up to speed is a very good side effect. On the rare events that one of my old friends shows up having working comms is a relief. Now, if I could just some of them to actually talk about the battle instead of everything besides that.
Comms for PS2/PC work fine. I have to commit to getting my PC's mic going. W* is such a blasted pain. Unplug the mic and suddenly my HDMI has a mic? Seriously, who bought that? Cause I didn't and lookie, there is the USB mic that you cannot find. Argh!
My PC experience is really good, so I hope that translates to the PS4. We will see how it turns out. My old corp is all Sony based and they look like they are getting into PS2/PS4. Once the release hits we'll see what we see. I don't have a PS4 as yet, and it can wait until my old corp makes their decision.

We just lost most of the newest ways of "testers". Maps were back to 1-12 last night. I guess we were trying too hard to be like destiny with all that loot hunting, raiding, and wut not
Srsly tho, the comms and networking or lack of has killed the pop again, i kno it's only beta but sadly the ps4 has total sht available, they ported angry birds to console and bunch of 8 bit side scrollers and top downs are all thats on store. Who the fk plays side scrollers and 8bit on a next gen console? You couldn't even pay me to. Well except for Helldivers which is dressed up to look "persistend" until digging deeper you realize it's pretty meaningless. Still fun sometimes but the mmo part was more or less a sales gimmick. I still need to get hyped on bfh it just sits there unplayed
Now if elder scroll online pvp can redeem it from, "bring me back 5 demonic chicken eggs to save our village after you deliver that pizza" then we might have some hope but the quest grinding i watched on youtube was repulsive
Ps2 is really just a place holder for No Mans Sky, which i'm half expecting a flop there. |

Because I am sure PS2 doesn't get ideas from other games...
Face the facts. Anyone putting significant resources in a game is going to look at successful ideas and use as mamy of those as possible to ensure while changing it just enough to be different.
That is why so much innovation happens in indies because they aren't spending AAA game money on develpment with publishers looking over their shoulder telling them what their market research says they should make changes to.
I don't know what makes you think that Dust is the only game like that, other than simply not liking it and just looking for something to complain about.

The lack of a vehicle lock helps prevent vehicles from being abused.
Hell, they should let me recall your HAV into my assets after you jumped out for some ******** reason.

Hell, they should let me recall your HAV into my assets after you jumped out for some ******** reason. Ah, excuse me? SMcB how do you figure that? Check the QQing on the other dust forums and vehicle abuse is a hot topic.
Vehicle lock in PS2 works alright, but vehicles have zero cost. You want a tank, go get one. The faction specific tanks are only available in larger facilities. And it is possible to unlock the vehicle, I think so anyway.
I always wondered why you couldn't keep a vehicle if you hacked it but I finally puzzled out an answer:
If BPOs are required to fit the unit then the inventory system would have to A: accept that the new owner/thief/recuser can access that same BPO B: delete the unique (or BPO) fittings when you exited battle thus rendering the fitting unusable. C: just not allow acquisition of the vehicle, although if it isn't lost - the owner doesn't lose the vehicle as it wasn't destroyed.
They chose C. Not a bad decision overall. Much less programming involved. You know my opinion of their programming abilities.
Considering the vast number of reasons for leaving battle in Dust many of them outside of the player's control (dc'd, fatal crash, PS3 reset), claiming another's vehicle seems like backing over them as road kill, but that's just me. If a friend/squad mate disconnects I recall my vehicle and get into their prize. Hopefully I can keep it alive until the end of the match.

I wondered why they didn't implement something. Even if they prevent keeping the vehicle (which I understand the reasoning, at least the made up reason I came up with) but I would enjoy the game much more if I could lock the tank to my squad and eject anyone that isn't in squad. Then they could hack my blue tank if I leave it alone.
This character has high hacking skills. Unless I am the onlyone there I hack nothing from a vehicle. Even less likely if a Blue Belle has jumped into my tank.
