One hit kills are annoying when not properly implemented, but the lack of them in Dust is weird. Sometimes its appropriate like when a Scout sneaks up behind a Heavy or two... a knife in the power supply should be a one hit kill.
Shotguns to the torso from CQC range... OHK.
Please implement OHKs for the next build. |

This is a kill based game, for the love of God man train up your knife skills and your shotgun skills and then REALIZE....that he may have trained up his Dropsuit skills and his shield skills to counter being sliced in the power supply and avoid being killed. Certainly you understand the logic here, this is not COD, the game where knives have no skillset they are given to you. EARN your skills and GET more kills, OhK? |

If you train up your knife skills and stack melee modules even you may kill me, at 1600 total hp, in 5 hits.
There are other ways to OHK even me in the current build, besides swarm launchers, that are much more reliable than a melee. |

Maybe not OHKs but the knife is a total joke. IT DOES NOTHING. |

I take offense to you besmirching my namesake, Sir!
You can totally insta-gib someone with the knife, you just need to sacrifice any dream of having any kind of tank on your fit at all, and invest about 1.2m skillpoints.
The knife is far from useless, but people who only use it as a panic button without skilling it up will generally find it less than helpful.
As for OHK's in general, there are only a couple weapons capable of 100% OHK any time they hit you directly, and that is how it should stay. The few weapons able to do this (Vehicle railguns, forge guns) These weapons have a spool-up time and are rather hard to aim, generally getting more kills with splash than direct hits.
There are some weapons (Knives, Pistols, Shotguns, snipers) That can situationally OHK someone, provided you hit them in the face and have the appropriate skills! Their fit also matters, lighter tanked fits obviously are easier to gib in one shot. Right now the hit detection is a bit shoddy, but that is fixed next update and a lot of the gameplay issues people are having will vanish :) |

Nah, shotguns should be 2-3HK on a full health Assault Standard. That would be fair. |

Ooooo look... its one of the PC master race gamers gracing us peasant console gamers with his presence. I don't play COD, its an arcade shooter at best. I do play MAG... which Dust would do well to imitate as much as possible. MAG requires leveling up your knife skill but still only OHKs knife-headshots and melee attacks from behind.
Let me try to help you make sense of this. If I sneak up behind a heavy or group of heavies as a scout im DEAD once i pull the trigger. However... letting me sneak behind you should have a severe penalty; like death. I don't want random knife swings to OHK, but stealth kills from an awesome flank are currently impossible. |

OHK should ONLY be for snipers to the head, and maybe knives from the back. Other than that, NOTHING should OHK me, unless its a direct impact rocket, or tank shell or something like that.
Shotguns, it depends on what kind of a shotgun, a semi-auto with a high fire rate like the one we have now should NEVER be OHK unless its literally 2 meters away to the head or torso. But if we get the "pump action" style shotguns with slow fire rate, those ones should be OHK at a reasonable range. |
