I just want to gauge people's thoughts on changing Ammar assault bonus from "-25% heat build-up" to "+25% cool off speed", so that non-Ammar suits have freer access to the weapon without making the Ammar assault bonus pointless. This is just a discussion, because a such a change might have more serious balance implications than I have thought of at the moment. But I did want to hear defenses against such a change from the community

Well... In all honesty, I feel like the weapon is super accessible to any and every race. The weapon is still rediculously good granted you can manage the heat. The OH isn't even supposed to be reached if done right.
Now, changing it to be +3% per level, maybe. Ends up being a 15% bonus to heat, still not bad, but not super WTF.

This really hinders/butchers the Laser Rifle, which is already pretty underused, so I personally say no.
If you want to change the Amarr Assault bonus, there might be better ways to go about it. |

You know, I had a feeling that I should have double checked the spelling for Amarr (I don't play EVE), and I didn't. My bad about the spelling.

Yuck.
I'd abandon my Amarr purist if that were to happen without a FREE respec to the assault skill. I'd be stuck with a crappy assault, a crappy scout, a sentinel with no heavy weapon, a decent logi and a lackluster Commando.
We have enough crappy things in this game, thanks.

While amarr weapons are very useable by other suits (your argument is now invalid), I agree with this for a different reason: right now, maxed out amarr assaults can't overheat some of their weapons even if they try to.
Takes out any skill involved.
Some details can be ignored

That's the only reason to use Amarr assault.
Without it amass itself is worse than other two assaults (sadly not counting caldari).
Don't forget that it also affects laser rifle.
ScR can be changed. Bonus should stay.
