Right...
So I'm coming back after a year of not playing, and I have to say, idk if this game has gotten better or worse. I'm gonna do a list of likes and dislikes, and we'll see where I end up.
Likes:
- Character movement doesn't feel so much like a ton of bricks
- More weapons (either they were added, or I simply never noticed before)
- Display feels less confusing than it was before (either it's change, or playing EVE Online has helped in that respect)
- Love the general concept and the crossover with Eve Online
Dislikes:
- Horrible Matchmaking (honestly, I'm either part of the team being stomped, or the one doing the stomping, I've hand a handful of fun, close matches)
- 30ft vertical jumps + Remote Explosives + Dickhead mentality = Dualshock Controller breaking sound barrier...and tv
- Honestly, who's bright God damned idea was it to give players 30ft verticals?! Stupid.
- Pay to WIn concept. (The game may be free to play, but if you want the good ****, you pay out of your own pocket)
- Waiting for Matches...other than domination.
- INSANE SP and experience gap among players (you're either in GOD MODE or you're gun shoots bubbles)
- SQUADS (Seriously, take a tip from BF3...if you're not in a squad, you can automatically join an open one. At least then you have a CHANCE to cooperate)
- So little is done with such a great concept, the game has an insane amount of potential, but the Devs seem like they could care less...especially compared with EvE Online...
- Too difficult to meet players and join a Corp (Seriously, it's easy as HELL in Eve)
- Not to sound racist, but when did DUST turn into Latin America Online??? I have a hell of a time playing with anyone who speaks English. Local looks like a fiesta.
Well...that was a bit more one sided than I expected. Really, I didn't expect that. So what the hell, I want to keep playing the game, visually and conceptually I love it, but I don't want to keep having a ****** gaming experience doing so. So, any suggestions? I'd love to find a Corp, but right now Idk where to even look. I'm at my wit's end with this game, so somebody throw me a bone here.

Why did they take away the ability to join a squad in match? Even in the warbarge pre FW you can't join a squad. Absolutely stupid and unnecessary. |

i thought it was just a glitch from the last update but they have been pretty slow to fix this pretty major bug, so maybe you're right and it is by design.

It is a chat channel that can help you get back on track and has squads.
As for the Latin America thing, it is a lot more expensive to game down there than it is here in the States, so obviously if there is a free to play game they're gonna take it.

Thade Reid is my original character. Take one look at my K/D and you'll see what I mean when I say I've been having a terribad gaming experience.
This isn't one of those things where I simply suck ass at FPS games, I'm no stranger to FPS's, and I've always managed to keep a positive K/D in the games I've played, especially BF3. But again, with BF3 you have the option to automatically be placed in an open squad, which encourages coordination and cooperation, even at a basic level, with or without mics. With DUST, if you enter a game by yourself, you have to pray that your team either has a squad or two in it already, or your teammates have the ability to cooperate without communication. Short of those two things happening, you are literally on your own.
I'm not a "Lone Wolf" sort of player, I thrive when I have active teammates to back me up and work with me. I'm a very aggressive player, always trying to play the objective and support the team. Of course, this kind of playing style leaves me virtually on my own in an average game, especially once it inevitably devolves into camping from the spawn area. Maybe once in a while I'll be able to play a game on my own and do well, but as you can see from my original toon's K/D ratio, that hasn't happened in a LONG time. The biggest problem I can identify is the massive gap in SP and equipment quality between the more experienced players and shmucks like me.

When every team I play against has latin tags, corps, and speak only latin languages...well you should be able to see why that is all I notice. And I don't see how it is racist to take notice of that, as well as being a bit frustrated with the language barrier. Maybe try to take a statement for what it is, rather than reading into it??? |

Since everyone speaks at least 2 languages, you should consider this your chance to either learn a 3rd (4th?), or to practice one of your secondary languages. |
