I don't understand why assaults are more popular than commandos.
Assault players play like they think they're commandos, anyway.

Because they are better in EVERYWAY.
Assaults are- faster, can tank more, can rep more, can carry grenade, can use black eagle (2 light weapons) can deal more damage (stack damage mods) can scan better, is detected less, smaller hit box, more stamina/regen, faster, jump higher, better melee (stack, only calmando can have better) hack faster, move faster.
All at the same time too.
Assaults are better in EVERY WAY.

Commando is for camping and very useful in PC battles, not Publics.
CK.0 = Sniper 1 shot kill. swarmlauncher.
GK.0 = Plasma cannon. swarmlauncher.
Ak.0 = Laser Rifle + Swarmlauncher.
Mk.0 = Mass Driver + Swarm Launcher.
Yeap... Commando is only a "viable" AV static job.
The commando are slowly fatty so you can't run over the map, that's the job for Assaults and Scouts.

I have to disagree with you there. A commando may be able to defend itself while running A/V but its mobility is terrible and basically makes it crap at both defending itself and AV.
The problem for all the time it has been in the game is that the commando has no real role. I feel like it was an attempt to fill the void of the fact that point defense was limited to 2 suits and one weapon for a very long time. If this is true and it is meant to be a slightly more specialized point defense suit then it needs either a buff in HP or a higher damage bonus. |

I've proto'd 3 commandos between 2 toons. Working on a fourth. They are one of my favorite classes. The issue is they sacrifice too much for an extra light weapon. The assault is better in every way besides mid-long range dps. They are very niche, and play only support roles ATM (AV, area denial, ect.)
'Sault AK.0 - Logi AK.0 - Logi GK.0 - Scout GK.0 - 'Mando MK.0 - Masshole in every sense of the word.

Two things...
Did someone just say ck.0 Commando sniper is valid for PC hahahahahahahahahahaha. Not since the range table has been ******, elite PC marksman are rare. We know who we are, we just cant do the job we used to be able to do in PC.
The reason why alot of mercs are hesitant on Commando is the old but favoured trick of the Asian Region. Sentinels with Light weapons. Lock Sents to Heavy Weapons, Commandos have their spot back. Been saying this for 2 years.
Pain is just weakness leaving your body.
