More often than not, it's a result of high ping on my end compared to those I'm playing against. Being in a speed-tanked suit in a part of the game with slow framerate really helps too.
For instance, last night I was with some south american players on the EU servers late at night. There were a few encounters that the opponent had me dead to rights, but just couldn't kill me. I'd like to think I'm just awesome, but my tens of thousands of deaths in this game tell me otherwise. My opponents were players from quality corps (prima gallicus. game over, etc.) and I recognized their names as quality players, but I just strafed right through them, one after another after another -- and I'm sure they were cursing me the same way I curse Addict Punk or Kaziuka Sniper when I go up against them on the USA servers.
Low frame rate + fast moving suits + high ping = hit detection issues for your opponent....and that equation works both ways.
Agreed. It's the problem number 1 in this game. Sometimes you do 25/2 against big killers (not me, I'm a bad slayer and I have 2 mb internet ) and you think "wow I'm indestructible", next battle against the same people you are redlined and they instant kill you when you don't give any damage.
We lose day after day all our old players because they are frustrated. Now it's worth because with the new matchmaking, when a full squad of vets goes in pub, Scotty put 16 good players against us and 10 newbies with us. After 2mn blueberries stay in the redline or leave the fight and we finish with only our squad in the battlefield losing all our money because we continue fighting 1 against 3.
Visibly CCP (Rattati ?) think 1 guy with 100 000 000sp is equal to 3 guys with 30 000 000sp... But it's a nonsense. Being full skills allow you to be multipurpose. But for your first speciality 20 000 000 is enough to be full skills. And a lonely squad can't be everywhere in the fight. It's why Outer Heaven have less than 2 for week victory rate like all the big corporations. And it's not normal. OH are beasts, like Ahrendee, NF, Carne Con Papas, Planet Express or Last Hope.
So what are the consequences? 1: Only the guys with very good internet connection find funny skyrmish and only when they play solo in US server.
2: In Europe server, nobody plays skyrmish. because skyrmish needs moving fighters, to rush objectives, to developp tactics, to take risks and to lose fits. So they just stay in domination. Because it's a camping mode. When people knows the good areas to cover the objective, they just stay, waiting for the kill. No strategy, no difficulty. Spam AV, spam tank, spam long range weapons. Spam rooftops...
3: Only way to win in squad with a good teamplay is to go to FW. But we are now a minority of EU players. With 80% of US people in the fight, the lag is unbelievable, framerate falls down and the result is what Leadfoot explain. To win, we have to play proto against an Apex army. I lost more than 80 000 000 isk in 2 weeks, finishing fights with 1/14, 2/12 or scores like that.
4: Impossible to make money. By the past, you decided to play chip and you had your utility in the fight. Now you are instant kill by militia rifles with your proto. So taking standart fits is just losing more quickly the fight.
So to resume: 1: Good internet wins and death for teamplay 2: CCP promote the camping with the domination, Death of the tactics and the teamplay 3: The only game mode for teamplay is the worth for framerate and for isk. Good internet wins and we lose all our money. 4: Obligation to run proto for the win. So impossible to make money and to win.
Finally the only reason why we stay (for the minority who stays) is the community, our friends. But the number of players is now critical and so many friends left to go to PS4... |
