Might be the PS3 HDD which is on its way to give up? Ever considered a SSD or Hybrid? This will boost the entire PS3 including Dust I have an old Seagate Maximus 750Gb Hybrid with 8Gb SSD which works like a charm, even on Gal research lab.

About a month ago something changed in matchmaking, for a couple of weeks the pub stomp was rare, for me anyway, and my hit detection was better than ever. All the battles were close. That went on for a couple of weeks, then I started getting put on the losing side of stomps all the time again. And i get more lag again. it seems like most games only had 9 or 10 players on each side when things were working better for me. Maybe that is the issue. Why is it a problem for some and not others? I think it is something about the game.
