And pay them for it.
Also: Give their Reliability rating to the matchmaker to work with.

Most games have a DNF % and we probably should too. This would be good for matchmaking when deciding between two evenly matched players. Even better would be if it was listed on the leader boards so that we can actually tell what players are just farming easy matches and what players actually fight hard to get their stats. |

And if they added it into the EOM payout equation, it would be incentive for people to stay in fights, rather than penalizing them for leaving (which doesn't work anyway). Maybe even get bonus for staying in lopsided matches.

This I do not really agree with. Laggy matches, internet problems, just having something to do, squad mates getting DCd, and many other things contribute legitimate reasons for not being there to complete a match. Rewarding players who grind through an absolute swamp or leave squad mates behind should not receive more of a reward than others.
The thing about a basic ranking and a public profile is that most players would fall into a couple of core groups and at that point the outlying individuals would seriously stand out. That is the optimal situation in my opinion.
It also makes it possible for corporations to recruit based on quality which by proxy punishes people in its own way when they are obvious stat farmers. |

It would be pretty easy for Rattati to figure out a 'grace' dropout rate: Take the subset of players who never quit, look at # of games dropped/quit for that subset, double it and call that the # of matches per time period that a merc can leave without affecting their reliability rating.
@ Joel II X: Reliability as in how likely a given merc is to fulfill the contract they signed with the NPC corps we fight for in pub matches.

We should call it an Honor Rating.
Build honor by consecutively completing games.
There could also be a sort of in-game 'down-vote' system. There would be checks in place, but continually being 'down-voted' would deteriorate your 'honor' as well.
