As exciting as it is to open a strongbox , I think the price of keys is a bit absurd.
800 AUR = 1 key 6000 AUR = 10 key bundle.
$10.00 gets you 21,000 AUR
3x 6000 10-key bundles (30 keys) + 3x 800 AUR keys = 33 keys for 10.00 (20,400 AUR with 600 remaining)
All while at the same you acquire like 50+ strongboxes a day. And after finally deciding to gamble you receive so much gear that you are not specced for, don't want, don't need, or is just plain trash. Spend money to open a box and get militia gear? really?
I literally just started playing again after like a year and within this week alone I have had like 400x strongboxes (literally) which the majority of will NEVER get opened. It completely wipes away any thrill of getting one and is more of a disappointment to receive them than anything.
What I suggest is a number of options that I'm sure others would agree with.
- Make strongboxes much rarer, but make the gear much more promising. All items should be Advanced or higher, period. ESPECIALLY if people are buying keys to open them.
- Make Lockpicks (rare salvage) that you find a box of 1 to 3 at a time. Each time you use the lockpick it's chance to break increases.
EXAMPLE: 1st lockpick use = 10% chance to break 2nd lockpick use = 15% to 20% chance to break 3rd lockpick use = 20% to 30% chance to break 4th lockpick use = 25% to 40% chance to break 5th lockpick use = 30% to 50% chance to break 6th lockpick use = 35% to 60% chance to break 7th lockpick use = 40%to 70% chance to break 8th lockpick use = 45% to 80% chance to break 9th lockpick use = 50% to 90% chance to break 10th lockpick use = 100% chance to break
LOCKPICKING SKILLBOOK == reserved for if a lockpick skillbook is ever introduced to lower chances of breakage by extending durability of lockpicks, in which case LV5 would make up to 15% less chance to break (3% per level) so at 10th strongbox picking attempt it owuld be 100% - 15% so a 85% chance to break each time you use it.
In other words, a maxed lockpicking skillbook would almost guarantee you 3 uses of a lockpick with virtually no chance of it breaking. With Level 5 skillbook in lockpicking your chances would be:
1st lockpick use = 0% chance to break 2nd lockpick use = 0% to 5% chance to break 3rd lockpick use = 5% to 15% chance to break 4th lockpick use = 10% to 25% chance to break 5th lockpick use = 15% to 35% chance to break 6th lockpick use = 20% to 45% chance to break 7th lockpick use = 25%to 55% chance to break 8th lockpick use = 30% to 65% chance to break 9th lockpick use = 35% to 75% chance to break 10th lockpick use = 85% chance to break (if no break, stays 85%)

Or maybe instead of lockpicks, since that isn't futuristic enough, have Decryptors. Chance to break would instead be chance to burn out motherboard.
Maybe even make it crack strongboxes indefinitely until it overheats, this way it's best to gather a few strongboxes and then let it run. Or maybe even have a Sub-System to the Warbarge specifically for dercrypting. Make it produce 1x decryptor or key as it is now per day or something.
