I know this has been talked about before, but with the recent APEX and BPO flood into Dust, some have been uneased by the lack of "risk vs. reward" this brings. Perhaps its time to add a Manufacturing Factory to the Warbarge and turn the BPO's into legit blue prints used to build the suits and other items. Perhaps each level of upgrading could open up one more production line. And each day, each production line would spit out a certain number of items of which ever blue print it was using. Perhaps proto items would spit out 10 per day and militia items could spit out 100 per day.

I WAS against this at first...then again I hate these APEXf@gs being risk free so, why not.

I think I wrecked you in a nomad before....... Anyway I still fail to see the problem with Apex suits. Other then them being risk free.
One might say... I'm very skilled... yet I'm his apprentice... So what does that say about my mentor?

(*sniff* shame that I have to give up my toxins in the process.) Not really a goodbye. Just instead of a free perma-item, you would just use the BPO in a manufacturing slot to generate a certain amount of those items. So if you generated 10 per day, for ease of explanation, you could die 10 times a day and still break even. But say you only die 9 times and still have one item left, you could sell it to the NPC vendor for some extra cash. Also with this all those people with multiples of all those Quafe BPOs, which annoys them, could now have a reason to have multiples. If you have 5 BPO Quafe shotguns, in the current system four of them are worthless unless you want to try to trade them and sell them. Now with my system, you could have 5 production lines, and now you can put a BPO in each production line and instead of producing only 10 Quafe shotguns a day, you will produce 50.

My opinion on the matter is that anything put in to the game should be able to be earned through blood sweat and tears or cash. As someone who has played since the beginning, I have seen people abuse everything they can to make others fail. This seems like just another way to do that.
I am of the mind that the APEX BPO doesn't belong in game anymore with the changes to make the fitting adjustable. Free proto suits unbalanced the game more than it already was and this is a huge issue. It is also likely that this is the single worst idea (Launching Legion doesn't count) for asset development with regards to balance that has happened since the game concept was proposed (I very well could be wrong on this as I'm not privy to all suggestions).
- Removes larger isk investments into suits unbalancing the cost of battle
- Regardless of skill level all suits have better bonuses with better skills
- Rocking a Sever Logi BPO for over a year has proved this point countless times as I keep staying in the top six of the leaderboard for war points when I Logi, put me in a PRO BPO and that is all I would run, ruining the RISK vs REWARD ratio even more because not only would my tank be better but my gank and equipment loadout would be as well

I completely agree with your BPO argument with regard to risk vs. reward. But I am certainly not trying to abuse this to make others fail. I'm simply trying to repurpose something that is already in game to its intended purpose in a way that won't COMPLETELY cause an uproar which would happen if CCP just outright took them out of the game, which would cause even MORE players to quit the game, which is something we don't need right now in this crucial point in game development. If you saw a blue print of a tank in real life, you wouldn't be able to drive it around and blow things up with it, because a blue print is essentially a piece of paper with design instructions on how to build something. But in this game, you can pick up this indestructible piece of paper and shoot it at someone for free kills irregardless of ISK risk vs. reward an infinite amount of times. Now, in a perfect world, you would earn materials through some in game action, or maybe purchase them from an NPC market that would be required to make each batch of items, but since that won't happen for a while, I put out a simplified version of this that would give you free stuff, but at least you would need to put in an effort to carefully decide which of your blue prints you need/want to run and which can wait for another day.

I think you missed a bit or I missed when explaining. The APEX suit have unbalanced the game. The addition of a warbarge system to manufacture the suits from the outside seems OK but it has issues.
- No material input = no manufacture of suits but rather vapor suits for those who have paid AURUM to upgrade the warbarge fully to exploit the cash to win structure
- Manufacture of goods for sale begets a market and a need to be able to set prices...no we don't have a market we have a fail NPC buyback program
- The broken Warbarge boost etc features
- industry shouldn't have such a high bar to climb over

Well any input and ideas to refine this idea would be greatly appreciated. I'm just trying to lay the groundwork for constructive conversation and maybe inspire others to give an idea that may put this into the heads of CCP as something to truly consider.

Risk/Reward is in a fine state.
The object of Dust is not for vets to stomp blues into bankruptcy and out of the game, which is really the only thing BPO's prevent.
BPO's are basic fits, (which the exception of APEX) which still cost ISK to run. Two sides can run APEX, BPO's, but if one side can spend ISK to get a distinct advantage, which is where the risk/reward comes into play. Risk more to win more.
Moral of the story: BPO's are great for the new/poor player base, but aren't good enough to win any competitive games, which is exactly what they need to do
