Cause I just left a game with the 'dust' mood graphical enhancement. Hit the PS3/home button, quit, and shut off the PS3.
That stupid mood makes the game unplayable. I know it fits perfectly with the last two years of turning a good game to trash, but seriously why don't you want us to see all the pretty grass, the wonderful graphics, the road, the building, what we are getting stuck on and each other? It doesn't make sense.
Good Night

I am just saying ... BS on that. I can play games I enjoy and I can see the enemy without this stupid resource wasting solution.
Modern (this world Earth) troops (US and others) have night vision goggles, IR target systems and we have iron sights on junk weapons and cannot see squat with them. This is the only game I play that consistently finds ways to make the game less enjoyable. I really don't get their mindset.

That's certainly a fair comment to make.
I think it simply is just a mood though. They were trying to conjure the image of players striding out of the mists at you, obscuring and preventing extreme long distance combat due to weather effects, etc.
The issue comes into play in whether you accept these are cool aspects of gameplay, such as you might with the low visibility 'levevolutions' from Battlefield, or as pure hindrances to a simple FPS shooter. To some degree I understand the frustration at not having clear lines of sight all the time, other times I quite enjoy the darker and less visually accessible maps.

Your imagery is fine. In a game that works. This game doesn't though, it hasn't work well since Chromosome. Adding reasons to turn it off does not help their plan. Unless that plan is to have more customers turn off their game, and even I doubt that.
Some of the moods are alright. But this super dust mood is too much. They will leave it in anyway, they don't care what we think. I enjoy the darker maps as well, and I don't demand a clear line of sight. But I don't need a blasted headache while playing this game. Dust514 is enough of a headache as it is. Either way, the Home button solves it for me.
In a real game you could turn off the headlights on vehicles in a dark map. That is my just-saying.

Invisible forge guns and swarms complement each other. Sadly. They are both here to stay, we get cruddy moods but no missile trails.
And the Damn Swarms still track past 360 degrees. Give me back fragmented missiles and I will care a lot less.

Low visibility range is a positive dynamic. New tactics and strategies are possible when ranged weapons and rooftop campers are neutered.

Still BS. We have several moods and they only have one that is nearly impenetrable. It is a waste of time. Typical of CCP however to make the game unplayable, just so it fits the corporate mindset. Loosely call such.
There are no new tactics in Dust. Just exploiting whatever bug or database typo happened in the most recent release. And rooftop campers are not hindered by the tactic. At least, not all of them.
