Yes, I think it's already supposed to be like this, but it isn't.
You can see a vehicle across the map and through as many walls, or lumps in the floor as you want, just by looking in it's general direction (It's made vehicle usage very boring.)
I would like to suggest this red square popup be fixed.
I would also like the map to be reworked, as you can randomly see things that haven't been scanned, a Bolas comes down over the other side of the map, it's not rendering, heck no one can even see it past that skyscraper, but if you open the magical map, there it is hovering nicely.
The same goes for drop-uplinks and sometimes on tall building you even see individual mercs... This should be removed, the map should be a flat image with the annoying assortment of coloured dots. If you want to have a dedicated "lookout" he should require a scanner or running around and using his own eyes...
Not just some guy sat in the back of a tank pointing out everything that appears on the glitchy map.
Bring back some strategy to finding the enemies, maybe we'll even get some vehicle users to leave the redzone, if they weren't so worried the whole enemy team was staring at them through the wall waiting to pounce with a jumpy av grenade spamming scout. |

Scrub infantry wanted it, and CCP gave it to them. Honestly, I don't care, I just want to know if they are around my vehicle or not. a 20-30m radius scan that would pick up anything Assault or bigger will do.
And for the people going to say "use a scanner", scanners don't pick up assaults most of the time. Hell, they hardly ever pick up HAV's.

WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

Bit of a misunderstanding here (probably my fault.)
I'm not on about removing the instant scan when a vehicle is in range... I'm on about the fact that you can see any vehicle, through any object, just by pointing your sight at it.
You can just : Look left > Look right > Watch for the red squares, you can now tell where all the vehicles are on the entire map.
Other than the obvious "I'm gonna run over the whole map chasing your tank with mah AV, there's no escape" issue, it also lets tankers stare at each other from the safety of the redzone, you will often notice 2 tankers seemingly doing nothing, pointing their turrets at a wall, but they are in fact just waiting for the other tank to make a move, because that's the easiest way to get them to fight on your terms (which is boring as hell.) |

You're either a low to medium threat and there'll be 1-3 AV enemies which you should be able to deal with (or run from, as tankers are wont to do), or you're a high level threat in which case there'll be more AV enemies, who will be more vulnerable to the infantry/anti-personnel of your team, and less capable of taking/keeping letters.

If two opposing tankers want to have a stalemate with each other, I say let them. Either someone will grow some balls and make a move, or they cancel each other out. |

If you actually read the post you'd see OP was talking about being able to line-of-sight scan a vehicle across the map (far out of passive scan range), especially through terrain.
I have to agree with him, though only through terrain since you should be able to identify a vehicle, even at range.

If you actually read MY post you'd see I know what he meant. As it is, maps aren't big enough that vehicles should be able to be that undetectable. Especially with how often they cut and run with no way to stop them. |

not sure if others are getting what the OP trying to say but he's saying that anyone can see any vehicle through any wall at any distance if you look directly at them. which is currently the case and should be fixed. |

I've made quite the fail of this... I do indeed agree that if you can see something, you should be able to see it, lol. |
