First off, I hope CCP realize these are the least immersive gameplay options available. To call them 'Contracts' is an insult to even Blueberry intelligence - it is the most bland search lobby you could deploy into in any FPS
So prepare for you eyes to bleed reading my suggestions.
Alter Public contracts we we choose with Corporations we fight for, choosing map types and gamemode through them eg. - If you deploy to be part of Thukker tribes fighting off the Amarr It gives you a set section of maps + gamemodes for those Corps (It could rotate vatious modes and 1/2 set maps)
So rather than random searching, you pick a lobby and sign up for a damn Contract. Rinse and repeat for each Corporation.. and players can fight on the maps they choose (I'd make mixed gamemodes a burden they have to HTFU and deal with)
This would add at least some immersion, 'ah it's this map, we are fighting for Duvolle Labs' Rather than the current immersion of 'ehmmm, it said estimated times 20 secs' 5mins later... All of the NPC corps could be assigned maps or a map rotation, and we select which we fight for
= Resulting in something similar to BF3/MGO server or Lobby selection ^ Which you could even colour code to show much vet stomping is active - Block vets from going into some of the Contracts to keep the bluebs safe
I'll come back with crayons if this is something CCP would consider doing to add some better gameplay - And with this you could have blueb friendly lobbies.. and finally kill the Altcademy, kill it with fire.

Not bad ideas...But you would be dividing an already shrinking player base. That is part of the problems now. Too many choices.

Indeed. But there is no need for a crazy ammount of choice (we fight on 80% same maps anyway) If implemented as I see it, it would remove your ability to select different gamemodes - so gathers all together.
If you wanted.. Thukker tribes could lead frequent Ambushes into Amarr territory (God forbid we add some lore based gaming) Along with the Amarr coming on to our turf to steal some ghetto babies. = Ambush lobby.
