This weeks promotion is crap.
Not only is it bad for us that do not have Cal suits but it leans you are probably going to be stuck with a Caldari skin even once trading comes around as everyone that wants one will probably have one after this week.
Oh and its a big screw you to the people that bought them already since for the same price a ton of people are probably going to get them along with a bunch of officer weapons for the same price. |

1) There might be other promotions for different strongbox skins.
2) Increased drop rate from strongboxes doesn't necessarily mean they will be super easy to get either, so assuming there will be a massive flood of them is presumptuous.
3) No one has bought Guristas skins already because they are not on the market; they can only be gained through strongboxes.
I'm not really excited for this promotion, but it really seems like you're just grasping for reasons to hate.

I still think that box content shouldn't be related to "promotions" by themselves. On the contrary, it should be an event, something like increased chances to get keys after battles as an exemple. Or at least it should be related to some aur packs price drop or a reduced cost to buy keys.
It also mean that we are going at least for a month with that kind of promotion because if they do the things correctly, they are going to do this for every factions.

You can't buy this damn skin. They are giving you an added chance to get it, not guaranteeing it.
I think this is actually a good promotion, as it is geared towards all players as far as having the chance to get it.
If you don't have the suits , hold it and sell it ( they lowered the LR required to trade to 2 ). If you think nobody will buy it , you are crazy. If you think nobody will buy it for some crazy amount of isk..you are right , it was free..why you putting a high ass price on free.
I don't have any suits for it, but one day I probably will, and as such if I get one I will be keeping it. And be thankful for having it given to me free.

"Might" be promotions for other skins is nothing more than a guess so you can not exactly use that as a reason.
Obviously it is still random but given the benefits that come along with gambling on getting it from a strong box I would say anyone that actually wants one will have no problem throwing 20 bucks into the blender and the rage from the unlucky people is going to turn this so called event into even more of a disaster.
My mistake I obviously have not even bothered looking at skins in the market because I have no desire to spend money on a pretty color for my suit that I only even get to look at while I stand in my cardboard box of a merc quarters or the few times that a warbarge actually gets seen.
Saying I am grasping for reasons to hate is going a bit far.
It does nothing for us that do not have Caldari suits and the part I did not say because it would have been a wild guess is that we do not even know how it affects our drop chances on stuff that we may actually want.
Since it is only a strongbox item this is basically nothing but an ISK lottery for those willing to buy tons of keys in hopes of getting a few to sell off later so a healthy trade market is highly unlikely for this item going forward. |

Common sense says that when you want to promote sales of something you should gear that promotion to as many people as possible. Increasing an unknown variable on an item that only a certain group of people care about does the exact opposite of that.
Had they just knocked 20% off on keys I would have been very tempted to finish of my last 400 boxes even tho I can not get an answer on if boxes will be able to be trade later. Instead, I am going to happily drop below my normal of 10 - 15 dollars per week for the last couple of months.
I suppose now that I know that these type of promotions are on the table I will just have to save all my boxes until something I want gets an increased drop rate and then maybe I can buy keys again. Good job CCP, I like precedents that encourage me to wait to spend money until an unknown event comes around. |
