Do you know how difficult it would be to get 32 solo players to que at once? And how would you fill squad games? If you have 2 squads of 6 on each side, you need two squads of exactly 4. I'm the only guy I know who consistently runs 4 man squads (I have 7 in my main crew but we're all over the place in timezones).
My worst DUST experience?
Having my dropship crush my Scotsman's with a Roden Sniper. THAT was a fun day...

I agree, but I think you should have a set of checkboxes in the menu options:
[O] .... battles with squads
[X] ..... battles without squads
You could check either one or both.
That way, soloists who want to play against squads can, and those who don't want to play against squads don't have to. |

LOL are you kidding me so you mean to tell me that whenever you play a game you have 32 players (single and squaded) waiting to go at once? or do you just hit search for battle? and let scotty pick? well wouldnt it be the same for single players ? as for the squads not every game has 6 man squads you wouldnt need 2 groups of 6 and a squad of 4 you can go 4 teams of 4 or you can go 3 groups of 3 and 1 of 4 or any combination as long as there is more than 1 person in the squad its not hard ya know (well programing wise it might be)

The time it takes to que a match is long enough, I don't want MORE queing time.. This system increases que time by a good amount..

my average time is around 2 mins for any battle single or squaded rarely its 3-4 mins but either way its not to bad considering there are other things in the game that can make it worse

I don't know if you guys have noticed this, but domination never has a long wait time. It is always less than 30 seconds for me. CCP Rattati already confirmed that is is by far the most popular game mode. Why do you think that is?
If I were to wager a guess, it would be because of all the game modes, domination is the easiest for the solo player to play. I know that's why I play it the most.
I just hope that CCP realizes that while groups (squads/corps) create a lot of the end-game and higher end content in their games, solo players is a major part of the playerbase that they should try to create content for (or in this case maybe a game mode w/o squads).
Eve might still be growing if CCP didn't abandon their high-sec carebears (i.e. stop creating high-sec content)

I would just have to argue that while there are plenty of styles for playing solo, the game itself is just simply meant for people to be in teams. That's just how this game is and was designed. Also, it is very easy to get on/in a team or group. You don't even have to really communicate and get all friendly, that's what squad finder is for; just join a random squad and try to stick buy them. Or try making a few friends in game.
So many people nowadays have their heads buried so far into their phones, computers, tablets, etc. that people just seem to have such a hard time COMMUNICATING AND MAKING FRIENDS. Try it once, it's not so bad.
You can play solo but this particular game has no room or resources to devote to satisfying the lone-wolfs out there. |
