It will be over soon, and when the Dust settles, no one will be left playing.

Just wait until BPOs are tradable.
The most expensive item right now is the Balac's suit valued at 10m. The most I ever see traded at one time is 20-30m for batches of officer suits, and those are usually done in multiple trades (3-5 suits at a time)
But when you have items worth 50-200m for ONE item, there will be many more scams going on, and much bigger ones at that.
Although honestly, not getting scammed is pretty easy, as long as you always follow proper trading etiquette.
Pretty easy. -Always send isk first or make sure you get isk firs -Do multiple trades for anything over 10 items, or 5m -Never trust anyone, especially people without a mic, or with weird names that include '420', 'URMOM', profanity, etc. -Only trade for what's fair: super cheap or huge offers are almost always scams.
Of course, with any big purchases of a single item such as BPOs, you should always go with a neutral third party, or at least someone trusted within the trade community,

Which, at the time, was a completely legitimate, by design method of making ISK, provided by CCP and untouched for months.

I have had multiple deals with a RND/NF (SOS) guy who has got to be one of the most trusting and trustworthy guys around.
Sold him 5 balacs suits,,3 Frames,,Some Officer RR's for 55 Million isk. AND he sent the isk first. I have had mulitple transactions with him and all of them have been over 30 Million isk at a time.

Yeah I know. I would have banked every penny of that. But he did something awesomer with it.
I have grown to respect Kain Sperro (sp) more and more. I had read in a thread that someone was ripped off during a purchase and Kain was able to work out to where the ISK was returned. I dont know if he did it himself or what,,,but that was pretty #honourgable. |
