I've been on for like 5-6 hours, I've only gotten one. Nearly 10 minute waits with no results with it queued by itself. Had the same stupid Line Harvest dom 3-4 times in a row, though. Dom is practically all I've gotten when multiqueued, mostly shorthanded over the last couple hours. :^/

People like skirmish and domination/new game mode more than ambush.
Wait.. it's not new. People just don't like these full of stomping ambushes.

Ambush is ******* stupid; it wasn't always too bad, then in the codex build of beta, CCP completely killed it, and it's become more and more of a clusterfuck ever since. Back in closed beta, and the very start of open beta, ambush maps were actually more open, with installations to concentrate fighting around. We didn't have to worry about bad spawns, because with the entire map available, you could respawn completely out of sight of the combat.
And while you're talking about people being scared, isn't the ambush community terrified of any form of vehicle?

I always have it on auto.
I'm not especially a fan of the game mode, but it's a necessity when hit with big WP/SP/win missions and I don't have a squad. Easily the fastest way to get through them. I could've been done in a couple hours instead of spending all night hoping I wasn't getting stuck in a shorthanded dom or on the wrong side of a skirm, which, of course, I did. Had to give up on a key because I just couldn't get the last couple wins.

that's all I really play them for as well... daily mission wins.
when it comes to SP , or WP dailies I go for dom though. I usually always do decent in dom , kdr might not reflect that.. but the isk/wp/sp sure does.
the ambush ( OMS?? always forget the damn things title) is also excellent for hacking installations. they just spawn all over through out the match and nobody really goes for most of them. easy daily mission complete for the 17+ installations with that mode. |
