Understandably, real market is not gonna be here. Now we have a way to exchange goods.
But, current player trading is actually just a 'send item' function.
Actually, where devs mentioned "trading is based on trust" I still expected the trading to have the same functionality as in Eve (station trading) as even then there is quite a multitude of scams or scamming attempts that can be made.
[REQUEST:] Player to player trading window (eve style)
both sides can choose to add items into trade window, or at least that one side has item window and the other inputs the isk.
(for non-eve players: both sides had to greenlight the exchange to happen and if anything changed then the greelights would had to be done again)
Only 'downside' to this would be that both players would have to be online at the same time (so no item sending from same account alts)
Looking at both sides of the coin.

They could easily create a web application like an vamped up version of EvE gate to make up the lack of functionality in the PS3 currently. Maybe even an app on a mobile device. |

Never gonna happen. Welcome to New Eden. CCP wants its players to get scammed.
They like the QQ. At least that is how I translate HTFU, admittedly I don't speak Icelandic.
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.

I have very little trust in other players in this game. No matter how long I have played with them, chatted with them or even exchanged phone numbers and had coffee at their house with them.
Wake up CCP! You have made a game (3 now) based on betrayal and alliances, what part of any of this is a trust system? There is none. At least make it slightly harder to scam people. Also stop taking my isk when I send someone an item, the transfer fee is on the wrong end. Also a cost (player assigned) should be assigned to the transfer as well. This still requires trust albeit less trust.

Bad argument. Direct trading window still leaves room for clever scamming.
If you don't believe, check Eve trade hubs where when a person insists on station trade (instead of a contract or selling/buying item on market) he is most likely a scammer. Not gonna describe the specific ways of doing that here, though.
Then what good would trade window be? Well it would free us of the most idiotic 'scamming' way: "you sent me stuff hahahaa I'm not gonna send isk hahahaa". Avoiding that would be a basic thing. Also convenience for players. Again, why make things harder and more inconvenient for the players? Especially now as we get the item receive notification about half of the time...
