CCP Can we please get some type of connection standard for clients trying to login? I just left a game against SJ1 Martinez, Mexico City, and Feedesex . Those 3 had horrible lag. We beat them easily. Fact is lags usually under perform. However; in trying to catch and shoot these laggers takes more time, leaving me much more exposed to flanking and reinforcements. Please respond to this. |

Could of been you lagging and not them. Happens to me all the time.

That Mexico City guy definitely lags... If I go anywhere NEAR him, frame rate just plummets.
Can't really shoot at them if they teleport all over the place.

Connection standards might also mean you'd never have a full team to fight. And the queue time might be fifteen or thirty minutes. ;)
Internet is hard dude. Not everyone has Google Fiber or something.

I'm wondering why we always need to have full teams. Why not go with the number of people on at any one time combined with number of people free in the pool mixed with a timer.

Pretty sure the idea of a lagging player just doesn't apply to this game - it's not a client to client game.
The client speaks to the server, the server keeps the location of each player.
If the client lags in speaking to the server, it just means the servers record of their position doesn't change. They don't move while you hose them.
This idea of lagging players is, I'm pretty sure, a recurring myth here.
However, if YOU lag, or the serve is not updating you with enemy player positions quickly enough, then there is an issue. But its either you lagging or the server lagging in giving you info. |

the day everyone in the world has at least over 100mbps is the day lag will be eradicated. By then of course South Korea will be at over 12gbps. But 100mbps would only be needed. As for right now there is pretty much no one can do anything about it.

How could YOU possibly have a clue about what I grasp and what I dont? I have over 200,000 kills on my main account. I play against the same people everyday. When I consistently encounter the same people lagging daily its them not TQ... If you can not understand that there are people with horrible internet that play Dust then you are in denial . If you can possibly grasp that concept then perhaps you would want a connection standard that doesn't allow that??? Or you could keep telling your audience here what the op does and does not understand. |
